longest time on just juice?
Posted by: Anonymous User ()
Date: April 25, 2008 02:31AM

What's the longest you have been or heard of someone being on just juice?

Does anyone think it's possible to go indefinately on just juice? Meaning juicing everything - veggies, sprouts, fruits and soaked nuts and seeds.

why WOULDN'T it be possible?

everything that enters the bloodstream from the intestines must be of micro liquid size anyhow

Hi everyRAWbody,

I'm actually on day 25 of my juice fast and thinking seriouly of becoming juicearian as I feel very good!
la-veronique what do you say seems correct!
The others:What do you think about that?
the only thing that makes me hesitate is that I didn't manage to juice:
-avo(that's logical...I'm so sad!!!)
-mangos
-strawberries
As I'm keen on them,I'd surely miss them... :-( What could I do then?
Is there any jucearian in the community that could help me?

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Have a great day!

I've heard of people going for 92-days on a Juice Feast, where,
unlike a Fast, as much juice is taken in to simulate eating and
feel full. Unfortunately, other things are taken in too. I believe
they allow Food Supplements, but one can modify the Program as one
sees fit, can't one? I've gone 21 days on a Liquid Diet and felt
Great. Gotta do another one of those real soon.
I agree with Veronique. Why couldn't someone live on Juices? Don't
forget to include Green Juice.
Nice to hear from you Elnatural......WY

hi sandy

u can still juice mangoes and strawberries
but if they are too ripe, they may not juice well

maybe experiment with different kinds of juicers for that

yeah, avos don't juice very well

but if u want to modify your goal and be a liquidarian instead of a juicearian

blending them would do the trick

LaVeronique

I have read David Jubbs coloidal bioligy and he says only gases pass through the colon wall. All must be reduced to gas so that's very small sized. Why not save our bodies the time and work of reduction from solids to micron, angstrom or gases by juicing. I can't see anything wrong with this theory yet. The experiment has now begun.

In the past I have gone 15 days at time on all juice.

Hi Veronique!

Thank you very much for your reply!
I think it's a great idea:
I could mostly drink juices, each time it's possible,(I'm going to try again with stawberries and mangoes) and about the others like avos...I could blend them!:-)
It's true that the benefits would be less good because of the fiber, but at least I wouldn't be craving these foods...

But on the other hand, when we live on juices for a long period when we eat a solid food, even a smoothie, it's like a bomb in your stomach...Maybe if I drink very little quantity of the smoothie it would be ok,just enough to remove my craving...
I don't know what to do...I'm going to think about it!

If you've got any idea, don't hesitate!!

Bye!

i guess it depends on what your goals are and also why

if u feel that alternating juices with very small amounts of the blended foods and it works....

but if you feel like it is a BOMB in your stomach, then.... i guess you have already found your solution because that will in and of itself stop the craving

or at least be a very visceral hindrance

but once again, it all depends on what your goals are and why

which will ultimately be the deciding factor of which route you take

I've met people who have done 60 day master cleanses, which is essentially a kind of juice fast. A juice fast would be giving you a lot more vitamins and minerals of course, so I can't see why you couldn't do it for quite a long time.

However doing it indefinately worries me a bit. I'd be worried about things not getting pushed out through the colon. Maybe somebody can correct me on whether this is a legitimate worry. On the master cleanse one takes laxatives to push everything through and does a salt water flush in the morning. Otherwise everything will just sit there in the colon.

Well into his 6-week Water Fast, Dr. Jack Goldstein
was still eliminating waste material from his Colon. The Body
will purge unwanted waste without help, if given a chance.
This is the best book I've ever read. Very inspirational!!.....WY

No El (and it isn't even Christmas)....
It was Jack. He was a retired Dentist with Colon
problems. His story of how he healed himself with
a 40-day Water Fast is an inspiration to all. He,
also, was involved in the Natural Hygiene movement.
But like so many of my Heroes, he died before his
time. Does anyone here know the details?.....WY

I need a memory jog too. He was a
Podiatrist, not a Dentist, as I stated earlier.
What impressed me most was the fact that he
abandoned the Medical Profession to Fast and
Heal himself. I'm getting Psyched Up to do a
7-day Wheatgrass Juice only Diet. I feel I need
a good cleansing....gotta see if that Green Juice
is all it's cracked-up to be. I'm going to re-read
his book for inspiration. A kind word from some of
you would help too........WY

Hi veronique,

Thank you very much for your clever reply!
To try it,I've waited to be on day 41 of my juice fast...
I added avo in a veggies juice:as I imagined I felt very bad...But I've been doing it for 4 days now and I feel better!
However because of my new job I can't going on with liquidarianism because I will eat at restaurant...I hope I could at least eat raw there or bring fruits...
I'm so disgusted and so sad...

Thank you anyway Véronique!

Have a great day!

<< However because of my new job I can't going on with liquidarianism because I will eat at restaurant>>

i've gone to restaurants and not eaten anything if i was on a cleanse

i would just order orange juice or tea and drink that

unless your job requires that you eat food

i don't think u will get fired

i remember going to a park that had a cafe
and it was time for lunch

and my date ordered teriyaki chicken ( it made him sick afterwards LOL smiling smiley

i just casually sipped on my tea

he didn't make a fuss about why i was not eating

i just said " i like tea"

focus more on WHY you are at the restaurant rather than the food

and redirect the conversation to the business at hand ( since u are saying it is job related reasons that has u attend restaurants)

the only reason why people feel uncomfortable about not eating in front of people is cuz they know the other people will feel guilty about eating in front of them

why ? if its a natural thing to eat.. then why would they feel guilty?

its probably cuz subconsciously, they know that it is not very natural
to be consuming stuff regardless of whether or not their body needs it just cuz the clock says ( 12 o clock or 5 o clock)

stand your ground

u will be proud of yourself afterwards

remind yourself WHY you are doing this juice feast

and like i said, redirect the conversation back to business

unless you are a professional food critic who writes for a newspaper/magazine

u will retain your job

and probably be thought of as being " more professional"

someone who is "more focused" on their work rather than gorging on SAD foods

If you were doing business with someone and they were slurping on their spaghetti, or constantly hungrily raking their incisors over a bunch of ribs or sloppy joes

instead of paying attention to what u are saying

what kind of impression would that make?

just drinking liquids is the most professional presentation known to date LOL smiling smiley

in my opinion

Hi Veronique,

THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH FOR YOUR REPLY!!
You're right!
Before, when I was going to restaurant it was with members of my family or with friends, first they didn't understand but I told them that I was there for them and not for the foods and now, they are used not to see me eating at restaurant and not to prepare anything for me when they invite us...
But this time is for my job,and I was afraid of what my new boss would think of me...But Idecided that I won't change my way of eating because it takes part of me!I don't care if he fires me because my 100% raw foodism is the most important for me !:-)
Preparing this lunch at restaurant I've broken my liquidarianism, but I've decided not to eat anything there and bring with me fruits...That's all!!!
What you tell me confort me in my decision,it's absolutely right!
Thanx a lot!!Thank you for your clever remarks and your humor!!
I'll tell you what happened! It's Tomorrow!!

Happy Raw eating!!!

Bye!

sure sandy

also, if u are just paying attention to what they say in a business setting instead of gorging, they will think you are very disciplined ( which would be true in your case if you are just juicing...)

this will make a good impression

and then they will give u a raise, bonuses, a trip to the Bahamas... oh.. but i do digress LOL grinning smiley

> he says only gases pass through the colon wall.

Most nutrient uptake takes place in the small intestine.

The colon functions to reuptake ***water*** and electrolytes and to pass on undigested food and wastes.

The gas part is from the bacteria that live there. Their job is to ferment the soluble fibers in the colon to short chain fatty acids. When you remove fiber from your diet, you will have a die off of these beneficial microorganisms and also deny yourself the benefit of these short chain fatty acids that they produce. They will not only reduce colon cancer risks, promote colon health, immune system function, and help with uptake of remaining minerals and lipids, but also drastically reduce incidence cardiovascular problems.

You are really cheating your body if you eliminate fiber.

I've always believed the Colon is 'key' to vibrant Health. It's been interesting to me, for the last few days, to notice Green Smoothie 'In'
and Green Smoothie 'Out'. One might also note Bowel activity on just juices.....WY

At my monthly company meeting they provide lunch, but I either bring my own, which usually consists of a piece of fruit or simply some nuts, or don't eat it at all. Honestly I can care less what other people think about my eating style. It's my body, health, life, and beliefs. If I want to do this then I should be able to and will!

What if one blends all their fiber in fruit/veggie smoothies? This is how I regularly eat. Are the bacteria able to do their job with blended foods?
The fiber molecules(cells) are still in the form they can get to aren't they?

Thanks for your response.

I enjoy juicing and blending

Sometimes just juicing I find super intense, after 45 days I knew it was time to break it

However I can manage just fine on blended

I see it as a way of eating long term..gives me the time and energy to train hard!

My mom was a full time student, a full time secretary, and a full time mom. She never had the time to cook and clean, but she didn't want to feed me fast food crap. So, she juiced. Every day, she'd throw some fruits and vegetables into a juicer, then pour into a blender with some protein powder and some other non-juice-able items like bananas and voila! Breakfast! Pour some into a thermos and... lunch! Put it in the fridge and dinner! Gave me a multivitamin and a spoonful of cod liver oil and her food prep duties were done! Then, she'd throw the machine into the dishwasher. 15 min to cook all three meals of the day in a nutritious way. Juicing saved her enough time to get a 4.o gpa, go through school without student loans, and have healthy kids.
