SIMPLEST juicer ?

Date: May 02, 2010 04:54PM forget driest pulp and highest yield. what is the absolute EASIEST juicer to use:
easy to assemble and clean least resistance / least need to *push* food thru i miss real juice. r-arm/hand useless, l on the way. typing, breathing, everything laborious due to ALS and no real assistance. i don't care if the juicer is not sturdy... if i live long enough, i will replace it. thanks. I would venture to say that a centrifugal would be the simplest, maybe one with a wide mouth feed chute. I recently purchased the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain which I am more than pleased with. Omega/others make one as well. I created a thread with my thoughts on the Breville - check it out. I suppose the Champion would be a good choice for a simple juicer as well, although the feed chute is smaller, requiring you to cut the produce in smaller pieces. Maybe you could take a look at some youtube vids on different juicers to get an idea which might be easiest to operate. Cheers, JK  Re: SIMPLEST juicer ?

I sound like a 'broken record' in suggesting the Omega 8004 is the best all-purpose juicer I have found.....easy to use and clean. I'd also suggest that you live on a combination of Celery-mixed Greens Juice until you are healed. Forget Fiber and Fruit for now. A daily schedule might look something like this..... 10am....Celery-Green Juice Noon....12oz. water 2pm.....12oz. water 4pm.....Celery-Green Juice 4pm to 10am....Dry Fast This is rather severe, but we're talking about life-or-death. yeah, even though the ring would have added extra minerals, it would have been a bit hard on the auger! I see myself purchasing one of these juicers shortly... Only thing that will bother me is the narrow feed chute as I mentioned previously; My new Breville has me spoiled with that! I didn't realize that would mean so much to me, but it is such a time saver not having to cut everything up. Also, I like the "chewing" sound that this juicer makes - kinda sounds like a large ant crunching its' way through vegetation!  Re: SIMPLEST juicer ?

Date: May 06, 2010 09:47PM I think Yogi's right, as always!  , about centrifugal, minimal juicing and clean up time, so yeah the easiest of my 3 juicers to use is my Omega Big Mouth, a centrifugal. Just so easiest isn't misunderstood as best. .
Paul btw, best of my 3 is the Vert (other two being Greenpower Kempo & Omega Big Mouth). Re: SIMPLEST juicer ?

Date: May 08, 2010 03:22PM i used a waring centrifugal for a while, and have to say i went w/ Omega (i think it might be 8001 or 8003, not sure) and haven't regretted it- easy to use, does greens wonderfully, exceptionally easy to clean.

The less wear you put on the motor the longer it will last and better it will perform. So even those juicers that have wide chutes really should be used with well-cut produce. Something the manufacturers fail to mention. I've used the cheap juicers and they barely lasted at optimal performance for several months and this was with produce cut well. A way to help cut back on time-consuming prep is to either cut up some produce in advance (foods that won't go bad) or to use an electric chopper or other gadget.
