Juicing

Hello everyone. As my username suggests, I am new to juicing.

I have a queston: I have been looking into juicers and the Vita-Mix blenders and I am bit confused regarding which method provides the most nutrional value. The gentlemen for the Vita-Mix company said that the benefit of using their blender vs. juicing is that the pulp is included when blending. I agree with what he is saying in that the pulp has nutrional value. Than I read on this site on "The benefits of Juicing" that the pulp has a lot of fiber and traps the minerals and vitamins from absorbing into our body. Therefore juicing is beneficial because the pulp is seperated and not traping the minerals and vitamins from absorbing into our bodies.

I am totally confused. Can anyone set the record straight?

seems like you have a pretty good understanding LOL

personally my belief is that juicing is a health practice and blending is a culinary tool. either one can be picked apart for its beneits and detriments. If I had to make a choice for financial reasons (and I did) I would buy a simple (but not cheap) juicer. there are probably threads on here about the best juicer for your buck. To me a vitamix will never be superior to eating whole fresh foods (fruits) but juicing has the potential to be a whole other adjunct for health.
