greenstar gazpacho.......mmmm!!

i recently realized that greenstar is the perfect way to do the "juice with pulp-raw soup" thing.

here is a really good recipe i came up with today.

greenstar gazpacho

(set up of the greenstar machine for this recipe)

set the greenstar machine up with the homogenizing blank so that juice and pulp comeout together. use the glass juice cup which comes with the machine to collect the mixture underneath where the juice usually comes out.

nice ripe tomatos ...enough to fill the juice cup to halfway leval

1/2 cucumber

1/2 sweet pepper

1/2 stalk of celery

1 or 2 cloves of garlic...(no need to peel the skins)

stem of a kale stalk (save the leafy part)

1 sprig of basil

1 arugal leaf

add one last tomato to wash out the gears of any herb flavors.

separately on a chopping board...chop up:

arugala
kale leaf top
some basil
some onion
some dill
some oegano (if you like)
some cucumber
some fresh hot pepper for spiciness (optional
remaining sweet pepper...(feel free to adjust the quantities of chopped stuff)

add 1 tablespoon or 2 of extra virgin olive oil
also celtic sea salt, himalayan ...what ever good salt you prefer(optional)

this recipe is only the basic idea. it can and should be changed around to suit your own particular taste. i think you could evan add some apple or pear to it with good results.

please let me know if anyone else comes up with a soup recipe for greenstar.

no heating with high rpms and nice mouth feel textures for those who like a little texture. also...the tomatoe juice does not turn "pink" from all the air bubbles which occur in the blenders.

bon appetite!

JJ.....You sound like a Gourmet Chef using all those ingredients. When I first got a Vita-Mix, many years ago, I made soup in it just to see if it would. It did!! I understand Ice Cream can also be made if one is so inclined.
How's your Juicing going? I tried something yesterday that I may not do again. I scrubbed and cut enough Carrots for 2 juicings, juiced half and put the other half in the frig for later today. They're 'juicer ready', but the time saved probably won't compensate for the oxidation......WY

vita mix is a rip off...nothing but a high end blender....not only that that intentionally have been misleading people that their high end blender is a juicer.

i agree about the carrots .....leave them in the packaging that mother nature provides until ready to use.
