Glass is impractical with High-Speed blending. For safety, the glass would have to be very thick, and the container very heavy.The same as in common water plastic bottles? I'd say the polycarbonate container of the Vita-Mix is safer than plastic bottles. Perhaps JJ or someone else can give a better answer.....WY Re: 32 oz Vita-Mix Blender Jar

In the meantime I'm using a 48-ounce container and like it very much...no need to pour the contents into a separate glass, just use the container as a big glass.....WY Re: 32 oz Vita-Mix Blender Jar

They stopped because it wasn't Profitable. I had a 48-ounce stainless steel container years ago. I didn't like it then because I couldn't see the contents.
