seaweeds

I've got a bunch of dulse flakes, laver, and sea lettuce from Main Coast Sea Vegetables.
Any good recipes?
I practice food combining, and don't use extracted oils.
Thanks!

Hi Mallow,

On a side note, I thought laver and sea lettuce where the same plant.

I like my seaweed with a little hemp oil. But when I don't have any handy, I go with something like, seaweed, a squeeze of citerious (lemon, orgrane, whatever) or maybe nama shoyu, sometimes ground black pepper, and sprinkling either flax, sesame or hemp seed over it.

Now, if you are lucky enough to have freshly picked raw seaweed, I would recommend shreading it unless it is very tender. When I say shread it, I mean cut it into strips. Young seaweed are normally so tender they just melt in your mouth. Older sea weeds require more chewing.

Dried or fresh fruits can be added as well to make a salad. Personally I prefer to mix in some fermented foods into my seaweed, such as saurkraut or kimchee.

I hope this was of use, I don't know a lot about combining foods, I just eat what I feel like. Also you should probably ignore the hemp oil remark since you don't consume pressed oils.

My whole hearted congratulations for your diet and not using refined oils. I sometimes think I should avoid all press oils that I do not press myself.

Cheers,
Ian.
