Date: July 29, 2008 05:32PM Dear all,
I tried this and it came out excellent... 1 cup fresh thick coconut milk (I took milk of coconut by blending it with water in Vitamix and straining it) 4 small pearl onions 2 green chillies finely chopped 1 inch piece ginger 1 spoon raw cumin seeds - crush but not powdered 1/4 spoon chaat masala 1/4 spoon crushed garlic Curry leaves 5 sea salt to taste Finely slice pearl onions Add grated ginger, green chillies, garlic, curry leaves, cumin powder, seasalt, cumin powder and chaat masala abd mix. Leave for 5 min. Add coconut milk and blend very slightly with hand blender. Do not over blend. Garnish with cilantro or curry leaves. Pretty much all of these can be found in Indian Grocery store. This can be served with any vegetable or can be eaten as soup or with raw crackers or bread. NOTE: This can be very spicy and hot. Adjust green chillies according to taste or just don't add them at all if you can't tolerate hot spices. Enjoy!!! Take care A Iyer Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/29/2008 05:35PM by anuiyer7.
