Also any ideas for dulse flakes? Laver? I have altogether too many of each. Re: sea lettuce? dulse?

Date: July 03, 2006 06:17PM Sea lettuce is nice, quite bland - I often eat it straight.
Dulse I find goes really well with Avocado (I think the salt and fat combines well), normally I'll have alfalfa sprouts with that + some usual salad stuff as well. Laver I think is an aquired taste - I tried some out of a tin (so it probably wasn't raw) - perhaps the raw version is ok but I have to say I'm not tempted. Re: sea lettuce? dulse?

Date: July 14, 2006 08:15AM put it all in your salad. laver is really yummie in the salad if you cut it up into little pieces, and then when it mixes with the juices of your salad it gets all slimy and seaweedie. it is very good. Re: sea lettuce? dulse?

Date: August 06, 2006 10:50PM possibly silly question, but... is laver the same thing as nori, but not dried in sheets?? I tried it for the first time the other day, and it tastes suspiciously nori-like. Hmmm. Re: sea lettuce? dulse?

Date: September 01, 2006 08:17PM Laver is a wild relation of nori. The best way to prepare seaweeds, if you have a lot, would be to soak them in shallow water untill they are rehydrated, and then eat as is in a seaweed salad. Re: sea lettuce? dulse?

Nori sheets Dulse flakes Avocado Almonds toppings - whatever you want from tomatoes, zucchini, olives etc Puree the avocado and almonds. Spread the paste on the nori sheet. sprinkle the dulse flakes on the avocado spread. Add toppings. I hope to try it this week Re: sea lettuce? dulse?

Date: October 23, 2006 11:30PM I love the purplish color dulse. Anyone else? Where are you getting it in bulk? It has to be the purple one only just because it is my favorite to the max. Thanks. Carolg Re: sea lettuce? dulse?

Date: October 24, 2006 06:42AM The darkish purplish dulse (if I remember correctly) is pepper dulse, and has a little spicey flavor to it. I've only eaten it wild, but I'm sure somebody must sell it, maybe under a different name.
