Date: April 19, 2011 04:50PM I don't know how many people may have heard of "Raw Energy" by Stepahanie Tourles. It's jam-packed with recipes for energy bars and smoothies and other snacks and it is a great value, even for the list price of $16.95. We were discussing Lara bars the other day and she has inventive recipes that are probably a fraction of the cost of those (probably) not-really-raw bars on the market. Here is one example (no copyright infringement meant!)
Apricot Sunrise Salute Bars (Makes about 12 bars) 1 cup dried apricots 1/4 cup raisins 6 large dried figs 1 cup raw almonds 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut, finely shredded pinch of sea salt Process ingredients, form into bars about 3 1/2 inches X 1 1/2 inches and 3/4 inch thick. Deydrate @ 105 degrees F (41 degrees C) for 18-22 hours until bars reach the texture you want! Re: Nifty little book here
