Date: March 11, 2009 11:16PM I know this is probably been asked s hundred times but when you soak nuts, do you soak them with a lid on? Do you keep it in the fridge overnight so it does not spoil? I tried to soak regular beans one day (first time ever) and left it covered and on the stove...the next afternoon they were soooo spoiled YUCK! Never tried again : (
Please help...thanks! Kim Re: How do you soak nuts?

How warm is the soaking environment? They shouldn't spoil/ferment that quickly unless it's hot. I put my seeds and nuts to soak in a shallow crockery bowl and put it on top of the fridge. That way I never forget it's up there. There has to be oxygen circulating, especially if it's warm, because you are just rinsing them, not trying to culture them. You don't have to soak nuts and seeds, and even most beans long; a few hours or, for beans, overnight is fine. Good luck! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
