Sweet Potato

Date: May 05, 2009 07:39PM Can I eat sweet potatoes, or any potato for that matter, raw? From googling I see that they have a trypsin inhibitor which stops protein digestion. If it's not a good thing to do, can they be sprouted? Any information or links would be appreciated, as I'm aiming to be 100% raw. Re: Sweet Potato

Date: May 14, 2009 01:14PM I've made Sweet Potato Soup that's delicious. Soaking it beforehand is good, but you don't have to. Can also make dehydrated chips.
Sweet Potato Soup Sweet Potatoes peeled & chopped (blend 1st) ½-1 Apple peeled & chopped 1-2 Garlic cloves 1-2 cups Water Blend. Add a dash of Salt & Cinnamon on top. White potatoes aren't recommended. Simple Raw Recipes & Health Tips Re: Sweet Potato

Date: May 14, 2009 07:43PM It isn't safe to eat potatoes once they have sprouted; but winter squash is a much more pleasurable, much healthier raw experience than sweet potatoes. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
