Nama Shoyu alternative?

Date: September 01, 2006 11:11PM A ton of recipes I'm finding call for Nama Shoyu. I am allergic to soy. Is there an alternative? I used some hemp sauce but I had to order it from the UK, it cost a bundle. Something more accessible? Re: Nama Shoyu alternative?

Thanks! Eleanor Re: Nama Shoyu alternative?

Nama Shoyu means "living" because the soy broth ferments for longer than two years and creates healthy bacteria through this process. There is nothing "living" in Nama Shoyu, those healthy bacteria cannot live forever. Re: Nama Shoyu alternative?
