Raw Oat Groat Cracker?

Date: April 25, 2013 02:44AM I just got my first dehydrator ... super excited! The first thing I would like to make are raw crackers. I found raw veggie cracker recipes online, but no luck w/ oat groats and I don't know the proper way of using them. Would it be best to soak the groats overnight, then blend it w/ other ingredients to make the raw crackers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated :-) Re: Raw Oat Groat Cracker?

I finally tried the oat groats. I kept the ingredients simple: raw oat groats, raw sunflower seeds, flaxseed meal, water and a pinch of salt. OMG it taste horrible! It was totally unedible. I threw out the entire batch ... fortunately I made a very small test batch. I'm so bummed this didn't work out, but it worth trying. Personally I will NOT use raw oat groats for crackers. Date: May 08, 2013 03:09PM I wouldn't either. Raw grains don't taste good to me, not even heavily seasoned. They aren't neccessary for breads and crackers though, veggie pulp and nut/seed meals work fine and taste good without lots of other ingredients. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
