I found powdered dulse at the health food store for seasoning. I use wakame in my seaweed salad with lemon and cucumber, very simple. When I used to make cooked rice sushi I needed a rolling mat but I find it is easier without one for all the raw sushi or nori rolls. I think raw sushi is so much better than cooked and way easier to make.

Hi guys,

Here's what I made for dinner.

A handful of Arame (Emerald Cove brand, FYI).
One small/medium carrot.
One small Shallow.
One Avocado.
A tablespoon (or how much you like) of hulled hempseeds.

Soak the seaweed for 5 to 10 minutes. Juilean the carrot (I used a hand held juilean thingy, kind of like a vegitable peeler). Cube the Avo. Chop the Shollow fairly thinly. Mix all the ingreedients (sp?) together including the hempseed. And it's ready to eat.

If you like, add a dash of Nama Shoyu. Quick, easy, yummy and it even looks pretty (oranage, green, black...).

Cheers,
Ian.

Hi Ian.

Your recipe sounds cool, but what's a Shallow? I've never heard of it.

Thanks!

It's a rather small onion type thing, but tastes way better than an onion. It's got lots of flavor for it's size (like the flavor of a large onion), and since it's small it's only like eating a small part of an onion.

I like onion flavor, but could never eat a whole one raw. Even when I was eating cooked foods I would always use Shallows rather than onions if they are avaliable.

I normal pronounce Shallow: "Shallott" (or sharlot or shalloat or something like that, I suck at English as you can problem tell for the terrible grammar and spelling....).

Cheers,
Ian.

I suspect that this is a typo and that the recipe is actually calling for shallots <g>.

The following links are pictures of shallots (I've added several because any given link won't work for everyone):
