Date: April 23, 2007 04:37AM Hi. I'm curious about peoples' favorite raw uncookbooks. I'm especially looking for recipes that would be good for demos, i.e. attractive result, simple, and inexpensive. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/23/2007 04:37AM by heather. Re: raw uncookbooks

Date: May 27, 2007 12:27AM I like "Raw Food Made Easy for one or two people" by Jennifer Cornbleet, it is super simple, and most of the recipes I've tried were really good. Re: raw uncookbooks

Date: June 10, 2007 09:52PM Don't LOVE it, I'm passing it on to my daughter - Raw in 10 minutes by Brian Au.
It's a good transitional book, I'm just past that stage & into simple raw now. Hope that helps Oh yeah and in both Paul Nison's the Raw Life and Doug Graham's 80/10/10 there are some good recipes. Re: raw uncookbooks

Date: June 12, 2007 02:21PM The Raw Gourmet by Nomi Shannon is to me the best raw cookbook by far. More raw chefs I know used her book as a primer for jumping off from than any other raw cookbook. It's got clean recipes, easy to understand instructions, colorful pictures, no use of questionable food items like cacao or agave or excessive use of coconut oil, and they can be enjoyed every day without getting you ill.

Date: June 13, 2007 08:06AM i believe that THE most SIMPLE raw recipe book has to be
hands down phyllis avery's Garden of Eden ( i hope that's the name of it cuz it was a long time ago that that book first came into my life) at any rate, i think the absolute max that ANY of the recipes has was like 4 ingredients it was really simple stuff no dehydrators, no oils, no spices, and best of all, she followed the rule of food combining ( at least from what i recall... like i said, its been a while since i owned that book.. i gave it away.. it was cute too ( at least the cover was.. the cover has a bunch of fruits and veggies decorating the page.. and it had the title in the middle) it was one of the first and (to be honest, the last) recipe book that i owned makes me weep when i think about that book.. soo precious ( sniffles sniffles it kinda introduced me to the simplicity and beauty of raw foods oh yeah, no dehydrators are necessary either i think that the most you need is a blender ( if even THAT) Re: raw uncookbooks

Date: July 11, 2007 09:58PM I am surprised no one mentioned "Rainbow green live food cousin" by Gabriel Cousens. This has the best recipes and I own 6 raw uncook books, a lot of what was mentioned. I really do like these recipes and I know you won't regret this book either! Re: raw uncookbooks

Date: July 20, 2007 07:34AM Hi All
Gabriel's book is great, as above. I spent three amazing weeks at the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Centre, Patagonia, Arizona, during the pre-opening phase. Later my husband organised for Gabriel to come and spend time in South Africa sharing his message. So I have a soft spot for ALL Gabriel's work and writings! Dining in the Raw, Rita Romano, is my current favourite. The book I find the most fascinating is Marilyn Diamond's vegetarian cookbook. She seems to be a culinary genius, or inspired by a muse. The way she combines flavours and textures is amazing. It's not "all raw" but I used it during my few years in Dubai when I was transitioning away from cooked food and it was a fabulous way to go. As David Wolfe says "Have the best day ever!" Dee Re: raw uncookbooks

Date: August 20, 2007 12:16AM I agree that Amsden's book is good...but he uses ALOT of nuts and shoyu....I love Raw food/Real World....alot of coconut butter, but you can adjust the recipes though...Cornbleet's book is simplest of all, and Juliano's recipe lists...OMG...SOOO long! Its fun looking at all the books though...they are all very creative. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
