Date: August 21, 2007 10:28PM I can easily split open a mature, brown coconut and release the coconut water.
I have a heck of a time getting the flesh out, though. Is there a tool/utensil that can remove or strip the flesh out easily? Re: mature coconut

Date: September 03, 2007 05:06PM trust me all i can get where i live is compltely mature coconuts !!! i crack it into a few peices with a hammer then with a butter knife i pry the hard flesh from the outer shell. there's usually some brown 'peel' still let on the hard white flesh when i pry it out, so i use a carrot peeler and peel it off! presto hard white coconut flesh! mm now i want to go crack one.... Date: September 12, 2007 04:13PM i've found that if you hit the coconut all over the brown shell before you crack it open, the flesh comes off without having to use a butterknife. but the potato peeler part is almost always nesessary.
dont forget about the milk inside though! yuuummmmmmm Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
