Should I be soaking my raw dried olives?

I bought some for the first time. They are so yummy but very salty. I was wondering if I soak them some of the salt can be rinsed away. Or would I also be washing away nutrients as well? I’ve heard you should soak dates before you eat them and was thinking maybe that is true also for the dried olives.

Thanks,
Denise

A small amount of the nutrients will likely be washed away, but soaking and rinsing will definitely decrease the saltiness.

I soak my olives in organic unrefined olive oil with some herbs. I find it plumps up the olive and makes a tasty oil for salad dressing. It would probably take some salt away from the olives.
