Update on juicing with IBD transition to RAW LIVE food

So Im just going to add my update..
Unfortunatly, today IVe been in a lot of discomfort,

I have ulcerative colitis, the bleeding during bowel movements and the sudden runs to the bathroom have once agan started..

I got my juicer friday,
started juciing a lot of kale, collard greens, chard, spinach, jicama, carrots, beets, apple juice too, dandelion, asparagus, brocolli, celery,

manly more the leafy greens, kale collard, chard, mixed with carrot and beet or cellery..

So, Ive been drinking A LOT Of those drinks,

And unfortunatly as I stated, my symptoms seem to be wrose today..
So I spoke to this very kind lady at whole foods, who I speak to every other day about this situation, and she says Ive jumped into the juicing thing To strong.

she said just stick to basics, celery, carrot, little beets, some papaya, becase those other leafy greens are VERY strong on the body, escpecially for the first time Im ever juicing, and simply that I just havent ate to many differeng greens before, so going from grains, beans, and fish to all that green can irritate my intestines.

I believe her, so Im going to continue, with my juicing ofcourse, but just take it easier.

I did steam about 6ounces of salmon tonight, so far I feel better actually then I have all day, since I ate the fish.

Other then that, thats my progress, wich is weird, my sympytoms came back, one would think thats lack of progress.

But it really is progress to me, Im learning, thru trial and error, Im thinking more, I got to watch the sunset today at the beach, it was absolutely beatiful. Escaped from my mental place for a little bit and just enjoyed the waves crashing in to the rocks.

Life is to short to be ruled by healthy related negetives.
I need to live a little. Somtimes I forget how much I stress and worry and really over take things to far or to deep To fast...

So just gonna stick to lots of water tonight. Rest, watch pinapple express!

Also, I was curious, Does anyone think Pinapple would be a bad idea?

This is where Im confused... pinapple I read has anti-inflammatory properties,
But at the same time its a citrus fruit? So wouldnt that irritate my inflammed and ulcerated colon/smaller intestine?

<3 thank you al for your kind help.

Hi herbalgerbals
Sorry you had a hard day. Too much green juice can go right thru me too, which is not always a bad thing IMO, but not good at this time I understand. People who drink wheatgrass do a quarter or half cup, if that, as I recall. Red beets will make your bowels and urine run red BTW - it's the pigment and is normal. Dark BMs are normal for me when detoxing, but can also mean blood of course.

You are listing a lot of different good veggies. They might be easier on your system "mono" or in simple combos. The carrot and green is a good one.

Ya, try to go easy. I'm confused about pineapple too. Pineapple can irritate people's mouths because of the their potent enzymes so I would be wary of that, since it could have similar effects on the rest of the digestive system, just not sure how that goes. Also I'm not sure they are in season or if you are experienced in picking them out a really ripe one, which is important.

glad you saw the sunset at the beach

I live in san diego, california they seem to be Everywhere. =]
I bought 2 but am worried about eatng them.. soooo Im not. aha.

Lifes journeys are incredible arent they?
Confusing,
somtimes painful,
but being on this seperate path, I feel much more.. willing, daring, a LIVE
I think everything will come together just how it is suppose to...

Im always stuck thinking, how its not just the diet that effects us..
I was thinkig why I grew up on the diet I did, and who encourages it,

You knowt he food pyramid in the USA, was tought to me since I was a little kid.
But its not just the diet,
it ties back to the school system,
then it ties to the doctors,
the insurance companies,
then the pharmacuticals,
the food processin companies.

It AMAZES me, How, far we have drifted..
Were the only animal wich cooks there food.

I dont see how, people canot admit obvious it is that we are not living how we are suppose to?
People encourage these life styles.. as I said, its much deeper then the food pyramid.
Governmet encourages it aswell..

I mean all the evidence is there?

All the clues and the scientific evidence, shouldnt governmet aim to protect us From those untruths? From those food processing facilities, those companies, the docotors, who drugs and chemicals?

Why is the world drifting from tribal and natural ways of living?

It just doesnt make Any sense to me.. at all..

Im sure you cannot Just blame it on capitalism... or evolution,

if you argue with someone now adays about our diets, and how we are compared to Wild animals, they simply say, we are more evolved. We need this meat and this dairy suplement, its healthy.

Ive been daring to looking up evidence Against the raw food way of life, proof that the raw lifestyle is unhealthy,
Just to see what they say..

Anyways, Ive rambled quite enough.
Its time for rest.
Goodnight friends.

I must say: You're doing GREAT! Just avoid all pinapple and keep it simple with 1-3 foods combined.

I know I'm nagging on you but have you got Dave Kleins book yet?
[colitis-crohns.com]

I rekommend not taking the ebook because you need to read it 4-5 times before you "get it". It took me 6 times. =) Instead, take the paperback.

have you read David Kliens book? Self Healing Crohn's and Colitis. also Natalia Rose Raw Food Detox Diet? after reading these books I did a juice fast for 2 weeks got off my medication asacol and never looked back. Besides a rash I am dealing with it definitely changed my life. Maybe even saved my life for I was surely heading down the road to the grave.Fasting entertains a lot of considerations.Among other things (for me anyway) it disengaged me from normal routines including taking care of day to day responsibilities. If you have a heavy load it may not be advisable although the alternative well.Forgive me if someone has already gone over this topic I did not research all of your posts.
