Immune system naturally overactive?
Posted by: herbalgerbals ()

So I suffer from ulcerative colitis.

Its deamed an autoimmune disease. stated that my bodies immune system attacks the inner lining of my intestines, causes ulcers etc.

So I am not giving up on my journey to healing myself.

Do you believe that a persons immune system can Really work against ourselves? and I mean because of no higher causing problem such as toxication. Just naturally our immune system is confused and it decides to hurt ourselves and there is really nothing that can be done?

there is talk with my doctors that they wish to put me ona mediciation called Imuran wich lowers my immune system (since there belief is my immune system is over active and attacks my intestines/colon)... I cant stop believing that our bodies would Never want to harm itself, and that it only wants to heal.. so I have a hard time accepting and even agreeing that my immune system is messed up, in fact I believe its over toxicated and so many different factors included into this disease. Enviornment, foods, (ESPECIALLY FOODS), past medications etc. etc.

Any idease?

Here's my take on this:

It's too soon for anyone, certainly your doctors who've likely had no training in nutrition, to know whether your dietary approach isn't working. You must give your body a chance to heal itself. If you have done everything, including giving it several months to show signs of positive progress, and experienced NO benefit from being mostly raw, only then should you submit to more conventional therapy.

I say this because I am assuming there was a specific onset of your disorder. That is, you were born with a formed intestine which continued to mature and which allowed you to take in nutrients, that being the reason you are alive and speaking with us and not long gone. At some point, then, you started to have this acute allergic reponse to the cells in your own digestive tract; whether from a weird viral or bacterial infection, or immunization with a dangerous vaccine, or eating something contaminated, the ill effects of which you may not have been aware at the time. Your condition gradually worsened until you decided that perhaps what you were eating was contributing to your illness, if not causing it outright. And so you started to make drastic changes, which, after a bad and complicated start, are at this time, apparently working for you. What I mean is, you did not have a deficiency of Immuran, right? That is not the likely solution to the problem, though it may manage it somehow.

I personally would not trade some dietary easing for being susceptible to all manner of pathogens--what if that's what caused the disorder in the first place? Also, Immuran may have terrible side effects; most drugs do. It never makes sense to sicken an ill person further to make them well. Never. Lots of people have healed themselves, healed not just managed the symptoms of, this disorder. Give your body the chance to truly return to wellness on its own.

That's my word.

Yes. People, animals, bacteria, fungi, and plants inherit defective genes all the time. Or acquire defects, by various means, not all of which are due to their faults or faulty lifestyles.

Not everything can be fixed by diet. But certainly diet should help at least a little. You'll have to find out which foods you tolerate best and focus on those. It will be a long process but there should be some relief at the end.

Contact David Klein (www.livingnutrition.com). He healed himself of colitis-- he was in late stages and extremely sick-- and I have no doubt he can help you. He has written books on the subject and does consultations.

Im spoke to david klein, I already have his book.

I didnt enjoy speaking to him, he is far from humble (as far as first impressions go), the 2nd and 3rd time we spoke was the same. the few times we spoke, he never sounded happy, or even as if he had positive energy.

His impression was caring much more about making money and profit then actually caring to heal anyone.

Unfortunately I dont trust him..

As far as his book goes, I do follow parts and pieces of it, I do follow food combining and to ease digestion, and fruits to start off with on healing.

A friend of mine healed colitis ulcerosa with diet.. So I believe it can be done.

But she used the western medicine first to get the disease to an easy stage, and then changed the diet, and tries to stress less.. And then left the medicines. (It was a permanent medicine, because the disease isn't "healable"winking smiley

Im taking the medicines, and plugging in the diet. It seems to be working best this way. HOpefully soon I can cut off the meds. Ive decided not to go thru with the Imuran (immuno supressent) or whatever it is..

Im going to wait..

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but have been a visitor for a year.

It sounds like you are on the right track. I also HAD UC. I have been in complete remission with raw foods for about a year. Getting here was a long journey. I was so sick I could write a novel about how terrible it was, near death basically. I have been on every medication. I studied last April at CHI in Michigan for two weeks and that is when I went off all the medications. If I had made the transition on my own I know it would have taken a little longer.

I am so grateful now to have had uc. I now have a true understanding of my body, the cause of disease, and how to be my own doctor, which is good since my official "doctor" (GI specialist) kicked me out of his practice after refusing medications.

Let me know if you have any questions or need advice.

Simple Green,

It's great that you've managed to beat your illness and also to get a profound understanding about your body from the experience. Testimonials like this give hope to so many.

Your GI specialist is a jerk, btw.

It really seems that UC is much easier to heal with raw foods than morbus chron's.

Any thoughts about that?

My friend has crohns, him and his mother..
His mother went into remission 5 years and since then by using natural chinese herbal remedies she sees a specialist.
He got the surgery, and eats whatever he wants and drinks lots of beer, hes complaing of VERY MINOR irritations etc. since Ive met him, but still in remission for the last 4 years since surgery. I just hope it doesnt come back.. he eats lots of burritos, steaks, beer as I said, hard liquir, eggs, rice etc. etc. all acid forming foods.
So hopefully as I said, hes just one of the miracle guys who beats it with surgery..

as far as UC goes, I seem to be doing alright at the moment.. Almost completely off my prednisone, 10mg, tapering by 5mg each weak..

So lets see how it goes.. my only problems so far are bloating and gas discomfort..

my weight is steady 130 - 135lbs, pretty lean muscle.

I have developed a hemaroid this past week, and some blood when wiping but I think that from working out.. HOPEING Im not going to flare out again...

Still eat mainly fruits in my diet.

So well see.. I hope I make it thru and steady in remission.. I wana rub it into my doctors face who was trying to get me on immuno supressents and said diet will never bring me into remission. heh..

Simple green...awesome testimony. So glad you found the path to your freedom. So many great places and found the right place.

My daughter HAD Crohns and IBD. Did NAET treatments, some ion cleanse foot bath and healed. She does also Probiotics, did some cleanses but had about 30 NAET treatments here in CO. I would not suggest all fruit as my daughter read me note that someone posted they do that and their colon is showing great signs of healing. Still all fruit turns to sugar and sugar leads to other issues. She's now pregnant but before that her symptoms were gone. Sadly she still haven't gone vegan or raw, but her choice. I'm just the mom and let her choose for herself. I don't feel her pain. Just a bit of encouragement. I can't believe some guru advocates endorse all fruit. Yikes. Gotta write to one of my buds to see if his mentality has changed ab out these conditions. If so, sounds like Doug Graham thinking. Regardless glad for those who are healing and praying for those finding the right path for themselves. I know green juice fast 4 3 days suggested tore daughter up...bad suggestion from guru and nor did the bentanite work for her.

Last treatments were done in July so that's several months back.

She did have stool test done by one of two labs in nation ordered by her practioner. She's in TX, and lab in NC. Pricey.

Daughter also followed liver/gall bladder cleanse at www.humaworm.com. They make it fresh.

All info. I have. Can email me directly as not always here.
