TB skin test

Date: May 13, 2011 12:25AM Does anyone have information or experience with TB skin tests? Or its toxicity??A potential job offer insists on the TB test (the two-step test, no less). I'm careful with my health and don't do vaccines, pharms and eat mostly raw foods. I'm absolutely nuts over the notion that I should give in to such craziness and for-profit motives but I need the job. If reincarnation is a reality, I'm going to a different planet next time. One where there's some sanity. Thanks for any info.. Re: TB skin test

Date: May 14, 2011 01:16PM I've had this test and it's not a big deal; they basically introduce derivative TB cells into your upper epidermis by injection and see if your immune cells respond, based on the condition of the skin following the procedure, up to a couple of weeks. I felt glad to have had the opportunity to get it [for work, also] as you never know what you may have come in contact with in your travels and it gives you a better idea of you core health over all. Good luck! Re: TB skin test

Date: May 14, 2011 04:49PM Tam, that's good to know because I have had to do it as well (for jobs in schools). But what concerned me wasn't just the dead TB virus but what kind of fluid was the TB cells immersed in? Maybe nothing but I was afraid of something toxic being injected into my body. I realize it's not the same as a vaccine, but I was still a bit wary... Re: TB skin test

As far as I know, besides the neutral TB proteins, the injection contains [as inactive ingredients that help with carriage] saline and lipids, and that's it. Re: TB skin test
