Mixing your own iodine.

Hulda Clark asserts that commercially prepared solutions are certain to be polluted with propyl alcohol or wood alcohol. She gives a recipe for making your own, what do you think?
dissolve 44 gm (1 1/2 ounces) iodine, granular in about a pint of water, then add
88 gm (3 ounces) potassium iodide, granular and fill to the liter mark with water. It takes about 1 day to dissolve completely, shake from time to time. Keep out of reach of children and don't use bottled water.

coco,

Whence the sudden observance of Hulda Clark's dictums? I don't even know where I'd get these things without arousing the federales' suspicions smiling smiley, but thanks for posting it, in case standardized neutraceutical iodine solutions are ever banned . . .

I am moving so it's time to go through all the old papers and get it all written down in one place. There were photocopies of several pages of her book with neat into. She had some kind of hate-on for oranges but aside from that her ideas were pretty interesting.

Im not really keen on her ideas, there was a time i was though when ill. The thought that every health condition and disease is caused by some parasite just isn't true.

I'm not as paranoid about that as she was but I do think that a less than healthy constitution can result in the body not being able to deal with parasites very well.
I do appreciate her caution with the hidden chemicals in products though, she was wise about that.

Dont get me wrong parasites are very real and some of them can cause many stubborn health problems. But her theories were wrong about every condition having a parasite cause and they spin off most of these parasite websites that attribute every health problem to parasites.

People like myself who were chronically ill end up reading these sites seeing several symptoms, self diagnosing and thinking thats there cause. Same goes for the candida, acid/alkaline websites. Most of them are just the same repeated text over and over.

I buy Lugol's Iodine and it doesn't contain anything harmful. I'd love to make my own ready supply though. But there are new regulations and to get certified to make it costs something like $1200 now. I haven't researched it that much though, so I don't really have facts on being able to make your own.

I'd put Iodine in my bath (I used to do that) if I had a larger cheaper source for it.

I have read Hulda Clark's books, and in them she seems so hyper and goes too far in some of the things she protests..like recommending people get rid of their pets due to parasites they harbor. She only just died a year or two ago, and she was in her 80's. There is no utopia on Earth and things will never be perfect..and if they were, would there be life?

Love,
Prism

I agree about the animals though, we don't and will never have one in the home. They are dirty, no doubt about it. Cute and sweet but so dirty...

How do you know what's in Lugol's, exactly? Guess I could call the company.

You can go online to jcrows.com and read about their Lugol's 5% Iodine.

I have a Maltese and I've had animals my whole life, and I've never had any health problems from any of them..that I am aware of anyway. They give such joy and love and that's something lots of people need in their lives.

Love,
Prism
