Date: August 06, 2012 07:48AM New article on BBC, I find it encouraging that popular media are posting stuff like this. There will also be a program later on the iplayer (unfortunately only accessible from UK)

Basically, you eat "normally" for a day and then have 20 to 50 percent of the calories of the same thing. For a raw vegan, I guess that would mean less fruits and veggies on the light days. It has some science behind it. Mark Mattson of NIH has compared "caloric restriction" every day against alternate day or intermittent restriction... and intermittent came out on top. It's certainly an interesting strategy... and one that at least for now cannot be dismissed out of hand. QOD diet is the other author pushing the same thing. [www.amazon.com]. Problem with both authors are they are still omnivore diets. If you want to use the strategy with high fruit vs. low fruit days for example, it might actually simulate what primates confronted naturally. Just a thought.
