That was heartbreaking sad smiley.

I wonder if he may be extremely low in magnesium with the face/muscle tightening. A red blood cell magnesium test would be good to check.

Hope his recovery continues apace; what remarkable people his family and fiancee are--best wishes to all of them!

Thanks for posting, David.

Touching video.

I find it extremely interesting that high 'doses' of Ambien seem to allow the man to speak. Ambien is a medication that binds with the GABA receptors allow one to easily fall alseep, however, not effective in maintaining sleep.

It appears that the man presents with more of traumatic brain injury symptoms, rather than symptoms of a stroke, ie expressive aphasia.

Powerlifter brings up a good point in noticing the hypertonicity of his face. One could deduce that the same hypertonicity is occurring in the internal musculature of his larynx (oblique arytenoids, transverse artenoids, lateral cricoarytenoids, cricothyroid, etc) making him essential aphonic.

I wonder Intrathecal Baclofen pump system and/or supplementation to promote muscle relaxation would benefit him, thus maintaining longer communication endurance.

Pushing that aside, emotional video. We need more human beings on this planet like his caretaker.
