Thanks. So chicory root has to be raw to be prebiotic? I find that intersting because Teecino bills itself as a gut flora enhancer through the presence of chicory in its teas.

Chicory root is a prebiotic whether raw or cooked. The study data i.e the foods that were measured for there prebiotic content i think only assessed most foods in the raw form. Although cooked onions did show up.

Inulin which is the prebiotic fiber that chicory root contains is extremely heat stable from what ive read.
