Hoodia? Did anyone try this to control hunger?

I'm always hungry...i saw that a healthfood store nearby had some "hoodia" caplets, to control hunger... Its actually for weight lost, since its supposed to control the appetite... But since im on a mostly raw diet, im always soooo hungry...

I wanted to know if anyone tried it, if it works, if its dangerous??

*i took licorice root for awhile, and as a result i had a potassium loss.I was so tired, so weak, and i was constipated like hell...It took like 8 months for my doctor to find out that my potassium level was low and that it was due to the damn licorice root... So im kinda scared to take supplements now!!!

Hoodia I tried but it never really did much for me. Maybe for the first day or two but afterwards, not really.

The problem is that false hunger--which is almost all the hunger experienced in modern, industrialized countries-- is caused by physical symptoms like detoxification (in which case, stopping overeating and eating healthy for a long period of time is the only "cure"winking smiley and psychological desires (to entertain or stuff oneself with food). So---hoodia won't help with that. Only going through the physical and emotional detox will. After that, when you're in touch with true hunger, you won't need any outside interventions (as long as food is plentiful)--your body will be your guide.

I found that nut butters and steel cut oats are great for controlling hunger.

I have had great success with hoodia in the past.
I think the brand you choose makes a big difference.
I used Rexall brand from pharma plus.
cheap and works.
I found I needed to take 3 a day.
good luck.
peace

Fiber is usually your best bet for appetite suppression (though probably redundant in this case). If you supplement fiber before meals, it'll leave you feeling fuller. You can even make your own apple pectin. <3

Hoodia has really mixed results. There are a couple of hoodia supplements out there that are combined with fibers like glucomannan that I've had more positive feedback about than just hoodia alone. (I work in supplements... X_x) As far as safety, Hoodia is a cactus from South Africa, and it's facing extinction. There are -at present- (!!) no known side effects.

Green tea is also supposed to be helpful for appetite suppression.
