I haven't used it in a juicer such as Champion or Solostar, but I have used it in green smoothies blended with other greens using a k-tec blender. Was pleased with the results.

I have a ktec and am pleased with it. Just yesterday I had a strawberry-coconut smoothie. While my smoothies taste good when done in my other blender, they have a more 'silky' texture when done in the ktec. For green smoothies, using a high power blender also provide the best results.

Are you considering a consultant role strictly from a vegan/raw point of view,or are you also considering incorporating other modalities such as herbalist, homeopathics, aromatherapy, etc? If so, there are several institutions--some better known than others than others--that offer certifications in those specialties.

Regarding "scientific studies", while these frequently provide interesting perspectives and statistical supporting data that can serve as references for the subject being addressed, it is important to remember that data and numbers can be manipulated to "prove" just about any point. Scientists and statisticians are humans like the rest of us, and if when the study began t

Depending on what your interests are, Conscious Eating by Gabriel Cousens. It's a fairly large book, over 700 pages and includes recipes based on constitutions/doshas and by seasons. It includes scientific perspectives as well as some spiritual views. Another of his books is Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine. Avocadoes are a source of saturated fats, but that is not the same as cholesterol. As stated above, cholesterol is made only by animals. Your body do need cholesterol as part of the structure of cell membranes, as a precursor in making hormones such as estrogen, etc, but it makes its own.

Maybe your body in it's innate wisdom has decided that losing weight isn't a top priority and is probably using the nutrients you are feeding it for healing and repairing tissues and rebalancing organs that you weren't aware needed to be addressed.

It improved and then went away. It became less prominent and gradually turned into normal healthy looking skin. When I relapsed into old habits it returned and when I resumed healthy eating the process repeated itself.

The reasons for experiencing depression can be due to external factors (people, negative life situations, etc), internal (unbalanced chemistry and nervous system disorders, etc) or likely a combination of both. To the extent these factors are addressed, to that extent there can be relief from the symptoms they caused. That being said, many people who have switched to a high raw vegan diet hav

You may also want to consider doing a colon and/or liver cleanse while gradually making changes in your diet. A clean blood and unclogged lymph will be of significant assistance in balancing your body chemistry and getting rid of yeast/fungal colonies. Basically you'll be getting rid of the environment that was hospitable to the the fungus that took up residence.

Basia: Glad you enjoyed the 'cyber salad'. It's chopped romaine and bok choy with white grapes, black grapes and tomatoes tossed in. The day I made it I was in the mood for items with high water content and that's what I came up with. I liked the visual appeal (and the taste) so I snapped a picture before eating all of it.

Jen: It may be easier to open your coconuts with a machete than with a hammer. If it's a water coconut, cut off the top, get the water out, then cut off the rest of the husk to get the meat. As you've seen, when it's full of water, it has a lot of pressure so at times it may spurt out initially.

Having your own coconut tree gives you the choice of using it as a "water coconut" or as a "dry coconut". The main difference is the amount of water in it. The younger coconut has more water is in it and the flesh consists of a thin soft layer sometimes referred to as a jelly. The dry coconut just sat longer on the tree, has less water and the jelly is now hard with a thic

Hi Lois: Glad the print size made it easier to read. Regarding the effects of various forms of energy, your post on microwaved water & it's effects on plants is an example of where I'm coming from. Based on what was presented, there were no chemicals added to the water, the only difference from the other being the radiation it was exposed to. Yet the outcomes were different. Althou

We have varied reasons for adopting a predominantly raw and if really disciplined, a 100% raw vegan lifestyle. In most cases, it has not been an easy transition, often due to food addictions, comfort eating, etc. I found two sites from Nova's The Elegant Universe to be of interest, in that while they initially seem to have nothing to do with a raw/vegan lifestyle, they could nevertheless help

I first read information worth looking in to on effects of dairy in the book Fit For Life years ago. Because I had a problem with frequent colds, I decided it was worth giving it a try to see if refraining from it would be helpful. The results were unbelievable. No more keeping a constant supply of cough and cold meds at home and in the car. When I decided to give it a try again, the previous
