It does not bother me when sarcastic and/or ignorant people are asking me: "you lost so much weight, are you sick?" or making all kind of faces (puking like) looking at me when I eat or drink my purees or green smoothies. 5 years ago, I realized that I have to change my unhealthy lifestyle, (my weight was 264 pounds, BMI=36.8) and I had lots of "technical" problems. Now

I'm only "rawing" for about 6 months now, all I can tell you is this: a) eating raw foods ONLY does not generate plaque (almost at all) - I noticed that I don't need to floss like before - maybe only after I chew seeds. b) after I had a deep cleaning (tartar removed) my gumms started healing so nice, ther is no more bleeding - at all. Before to start raw, I could spit blood at any

I always eat the fruits with their seeds (and all kind of other seeds - almonds, hemp, flax, pumpkin, et caetera). Knowing that my system does not want to digest them (even I try to chew them - lots of extractions), (in my opinion) it does not make much sense to swallow them and just to let them go thru my body - since I don't fertilize no one's crops :-) if I can't take advantage of their nut

I would like to have a better understanding about those 2 terms: "fasting" and "cleansing". Maybe I can get some help, pls.? Not being obsessed, but after the thread I started about parasitosis and reading some more stuff about colon cleansing, I realised that I never did something like that. Since I still have the Dr. Tom Wu DVD's I got with my Vita-Mix, I decided to tr

Thank you for sharing this. V. interesting for me, because I had/have the same kind of problem. I had sinus problems all my life, and right now - after almost 5 months of raw, this is (honestly) the only health problem I have left. No teeth infections to aggravate my sinus problems, but still one of my ears is plugged almost all the time, some fluid in my ears fore sure. I don't want

That might be an interesting question. Since the organic food spoils very fast at the room temperature (after is blended especially, or sliced/chopped) what do you take in your lunchbox at work or when you have to be away from home for more than 6-12 hours? (I want to learn from your life style as much as I can) Thank you.

What I did was this: I checked all the threads from the last 6 pages, until I reached into an area with posts older than the one I started - and I still could not find the title I was looking for. At that time, I was able to find the thread only searching for posts (using my forum ID as key-word) and I stress: my post did not show when I was checking all the messages from the newest ones t

Its gone. Posted on September 01, lots of interesting comments, I even wanted to continue the thread with some conclusions. Maybe the admin knows something? This is the way the posts meant to help people to be aware of some things are deleted? It was not anti raw or anti vegetarian, just a chat and some decent opinions, nothing more. I don't know what really happened with that thread

I do - but I try to not. Working midnights, I'm usually back from work at 2:30 (AM). I try to not, because I don't think is good to eat and go to sleep. During the sleep time the body rythm is slowing down. Why to eat and to keep the food in my stomach to be digested much later? I will rather get few bites of whatever I have in my frigerator. Only if I could not eat (due to my wor

I think you meant "except the stomach" I don't know what do you eat and how, but in my case, I lost weight especially from areas where I had "extra": stomach, "love handels", waist area and not to much from the rest. I always blend the avocado pit in my high power blender. As Dr. Tom Wu N.M.D. recommended the avocado pit is edible. Don't let the taste to fool you. Not everything what tastes good is also good for you and vice versa, if something does not taste good, this does not means that is not good for you. Confusing maybe, bout I founded to be true. I eat all the fruits with their seeds.

Not meant to be rude or offending anyone, just statistical question. We know, so many people encounter problems being overweight or obese. Rephrasing my question: Does anyone know if this problem still exist for (raw)vegans? Just honest answers expected - they don't have to point fingers and they don't have to sound like: "I am vegetarian and I am still overweighted". Nobod

It seems that I ended my digestive problems doing 2 things: 1) Blending and learning what-to-how-to blend (almost) everything I eat, 2) Eating raw fruits (with their seeds), vegetables and all kind of herbs/plants (and their seeds). It worked for me.

Reading some of the threads regarding the cost of eating raw and organic, I thought that will be an useful exchange of information for all of us to provide our community with the best sources of raw food we know. Sure, not all the fruits and vegetables will qualify, but still will be a good idea - if is OK to do this in this forum. Example: Almonds, all kind of seeds, dried fruits, vegs, pl

Hi. Before making the food list, one should question him(her)self: there is anything I eat/drink in every day and I would probably not be able to stay away from it for 2 weeks? And the result will be an ADDICTION LIST (different for each person). An addicted individual should not trust his body signals, because his system is not balanced. I lectured quick all the posts from this thread a

Hi. I used to drink up to 2 liters (1/2 gallon) of regular (strong) coffee every day before I started to eat raw (blending everything into a 3+ HP mixer). After about 5 months - and even less (of getting rid of the toxins, extra fat and some other kinds of unhealthy ingredients from the junk food) of eating raw, I just don't drink coffee no more. You know why? Not because I decided to

I wanted to spend $600-$700 on a good digital pH meter recommended for food testing and make some tests on every raw fruit and veggie I can get my hands on, then I had the idea of asking here in the Forum - maybe someone own such a pH tester or can borrow one - or even better - maybe we can find this kind of info somewhere. My entire idea was to make a close to neutral (pH) smoothies or blends

The fear of ingesting all kind of micro/macroscopic eggs/larvae was my main concern before and after I started to eat raw veggies & fruits (this is my 6th month of raw). What the veterans into the vegetarian lifestyle can say about this? Did u ever have problems of this kind? How do u minimize the risk? Do you go to be tested from time to time? Do you use/recommend the blanch
