Hi. Pls. make me a favor and read the posts containing "blender vs. juicer" and "Is anyone still juicing?" and some other posts about blenders and juicers - just to have a better idea, then compare what u can do with a juicer, a blender AND think what you want to do with any of them and you will probably have the answer. The entire idea will be to be happy with your purc

Here we are again about Vita-Mix and blenders. I own the Vita-Prep 3. I used low power blenders (the kind u can get everywhere with up 2 $50). I don't regret that I paid over $500 for mine (I bought it with a kind of kit (I never used the vacuum pump and the screen), but those 3 DVD's of Dr. Tom Wu included by the online retailer I bought from saved my life showing me the way in Raw and

I just ordered one from Blendtec TM - The same power with the Vita-Prep 3 I already own (from ), but more sophisticated, cheaper - and if u r in US you can get 3 years warranty for some models. This is the web site: - I chose the commercial quality - since I knew that the end user (my father) is going to use it several times in every day. If u want to blend frozen fruits, there is no question th

I believe that fresher is better. We eat organic, so the best thing is to eat the fruits and veggies when they have their maximum of qualities/energy. Just after we picked them up or pulled them from the ground, or right after we pulled them out from freezer and prepared them (I avoid the term "cook". Unfortunately, we cannot do this often, but when we process them in blenders or j

I just blend the pineapple in my 3+ HP BLENDER, (with all the phytochemicals unlocked from the atomized fibre), I drink the smoothie AND take advantage of ALL "good stuff". One thing to mention: this juice is very acid and consumed in larger amounts is irritating my mouth and stomach, not to mention that is a killer of the "good bacteria" (involved in digestion) "I gr

Yes. Good point. I did and I will do the same. I followed the points expressed by Dr. Tom Wu, watching again and again the Dr. Tom Wu DVD's included with the first power blender I purchased and I am rejuvenating now, at my age of 42, in just 4 months of eating raw fruits and veggies - everything pureed with my 3+ HP Vita-Prep 3 blender. There are a lot of theories about these high powered

My answer will be this: You have to choose according to the way you want to use the blender or juicer. Think what you want to do 1st, then choose accordingly. I eat raw and I puree the vegetables and fruits I eat, and FOR THIS KIND OF USE of a blender, I will NEVER buy a juicer. At this time the blender replaced all the utensils in my kitchen. Even my cast iron (porcelain and glass coa

I never chop my veggies and fruits. If the blender/juicer is powerful enough u don't have 2 do this. For my style of eating raw (about 90% puree of fruits and veggies), it does not take longer than 10 minutes to prepare the meal (even for 1 day) - including the cleaning. (It takes a little longer with the blanching process I use for some of the green stuff). Only if they don't fit in

Hi. Very controversial to say what blender/juicer will be good for you. You should decide yourself after doing a research on Internet. After that, you will find out how the cheap and low power blenders/juicers are considered. I hope that u will go for a blender, but u will decide. Personal, I use a commercial grade blender from (Model Vita-Prep 3 w. 1200 W motor and 64 oz. container) and I

There is a good practice and advice to check the blades before 2 use the blender (with the jar removed from base!!!)Holding w. 1 hand the inferior (rotating) part. and with the other (gloved) hand holding the blades and spinning the assembly checking if became loose. We all know: nothing last forever!

Hi. Just making some waives :-) Now serious: are you, guys, still juicing (and discarding all the phytochemicals from fibers?) Don't you want to let the 3+ HP blenders to atomize the fiber content and to unlock the power of hundreds of phytochemicals? Juicing (for me) it's like I will re-start cooking and chewing the food in "traditional" way! I would waist up to 25 % of

The fact that I cannot Edit and Delete my own postings will affect negatively the quality of my postings. My trial of sharing is a work in progress and my inspiration level is not the same every time. There is a challenge of expressing myself in English and I will try to not disappoint the (English native) forum members. At this time, I have the feeling that running my own web site will b

I am new in raw (from April 2007) and I work 50-60 hours, 6 days/week- but I NEVER spend more than 10-15 minutes/day "cooking". I use a 3+ HP blender and mix there everything. No need to chop (only if u have a cheap blender), only to wash and remove the kernel from fruits like peaches or plums - everything else (any kind of mellon, aples, grapes, avocado, etc.) goes in with their se
