I have never give a 2-minute raw speech. I'm a raw foodist in hiding! It was even a big deal for me telling my friend this weekend that I'm vegan, because I had never done that before. Luckily I eat almost all of my meals alone (sounds sad but it's not because I love eating alone) so I don't run into it too much. Becky, sorry that you are frustrated with your weight right now. I really don

Hey girls, Thanks so much for your well wishes. I am amazed by my body today. I woke up and my ankle was 50% better than yesterday, which I was thrilled about because I could at least limp without pain. I iced in the AM and ate raw all day and by evening (now) it is completely better! Now, I know that I am lucky to have been born with a healthy body, but I really feel like eating raw helps

Wow, so much activity on the thread and I've only been gone two days! Danielle, glad to hear you are feeling better! Soraya, You have a great attitude. Give yourself the love you deserve as you go through this challenging time! Becky, congrats on remaining raw! Well, I had a great weekend at the national park. I went biking and saw elephants and monkeys in the wild. How crazy is th

Ok so I also have some social challenges coming up...I just got invited to go away for the weekend to one of the national parks here with a girl I am just getting to know. I said yes because it is supposed to be very nice and I am excited to see more of Thailand. Unfortunately I am feeling anxiety now about how I can be raw during this time. I plan to bring a generous amount of fruit with me f

Danielle - good job taking the day off and I hope you feel better soon! Becky - sometimes I have days where I am not hungry at all and I don't understand them. They are easier to deal with than the days where I am ravenous though, lol. So today I went for a 3 hour bike ride in the morning with a group. It was so fun but unfortunately when I came back I felt like I "needed" somet

Hey ladies, Danielle, I am sending lots of positive thoughts and energy your way. If anyone can make it through this, you can. You are incredibly strong! I like Becky's idea of the stationary bike. I know it isn't the same as running but it might be worth it if it helps speed your recovery. So I found out about this raw foods restaurant in Bangkok today and just HAD to go. I am so happ

Danielle, I am sorry that you aren't feeling well, but also glad to hear you are giving your body the rest it needs. I am continually impressed by your strength, and am confident that you will have many better days soon! Well today was day 2 of 100% raw for me... B: 3 oranges and a few spoonfuls of raw nut/seed/raisin mix Snack: watermelon and 2 bananas Workout: 1.7 mile swim...I felt gr

Danielle, you have every right to be angry. I am happy to hear that you are getting your emotions out (at the very least by typing them) rather than keeping things bottled up. You ARE a strong person, and you WILL get through this. We are here to support you, even if it is only online! Becky, I know that a lot of people do like to eat the same thing every day. For me I just find myself cra

Hi girls! I'm baaack . I've decided that I do want to start posting again, and I also want to aim for 100% raw. This weekend after feeling so "free" with my raw/cooked balance and not "having to" write my food down anymore I definitely overate on cooked food. The result: nausea and exhaustion, with no motivation do anything! I did drag my butt to downtown Bangkok and ex

Hey ladies, So as you now I have found a great balance for myself between raw and cooked and I am really happy. So happy, in fact, that I think it would be better for me if I stopped posting here. I am finally in a place where I can eat healthfully without having food on my mind all the time. For someone with an ED background this is a huge accomplishment. A little more about my ED: Righ

Hey ladies! Soraya, I agree - you are definitely welcome to post here! Becky, I had trouble getting out of bed too this morning. I did manage to drag myself out and do a 6 mile run. I am starting to feel stronger and stronger when I run - it really feels great to be building back up after such a long hiatus due to injury! It's important for me to get up early unless I want to run in 95 d

Hey ladies, Becky, you said a few posts ago that this forum has helped you not talk about raw as much in your daily life - I feel the same way. I love having an outlet to discuss this with people who understand! Danielle...LAPD! That is really awesome. I can't wait to hear more about it! Ok so I had a good day. I woke up feeling a little under the weather but now I am fine...I think

Hi ladies! Danielle, congratulations on getting the staples out! I'm really happy for you! Becky, I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the hemp protein powder. I have been interested in buying some for a while now, but never made the commitment to it. Now that I'm in Thailand I don't know where I can find it, but I definitely plan to try it when I get back to the States this summer.

Hi ladies, Danielle, it seems that Nate has no place in your life. He doesn't even come close to deserving you! Becky, I think eating a few pieces of fruit immediately after swimming is a good idea. The longer you wait the more hungry you will get! I went for an awesome trail bike ride today. It was about 25 miles which was hard for me because a) I haven't really biked since this summ

oops I forgot to add my workout: 5.5 mile run in 90 degree heat. It seems like I am now able to alternate running and swimming each day and not get injured, which I'm happy about. hopefully I can build back up to running at least 5x a week.

Hi girls, thanks for the support! Danielle, sorry to hear that you were out of it today at work. I understand how working would make you feel better in this situation though, so I fully support you going in and leaving early if need be. Danielle, I agree with Becky: You are doing absolutely amazing in this situation. It is really inspiring. I really hope the police are able to catch that man! Becky, glad you are feeling more balanced with the added protein. Ok so today I had a great breakfast of fresh squeezed OJ, 2 bananas, and papaya chunks. Then I went for a swim and was starving afterwards, and completely forgot tha

Becky, I fully support your decision to experiment with your diet. While I do believe that everyone can benefit from eating a LOT of raw foods, I myself am not quite convinced that 100% raw is for everyone. It's no secret that I have not had too many 100% days myself, but my percentages are almost always pretty high. I also completely understand you being a black and white eater. One thing t

Hey ladies, Danielle: WOW. I have not been on the internet since last Friday b/c they are so slow to install it in Thailand. I came back on this morning and was shocked to read your story. I am so incredibly sorry for what happened to you, and I am also grateful that you were strong enough to share it with us on the board. It really hit home for me because I am also a young, 23 year old wo

Wow, lots of activity on the thread...I like it! Danielle, I agree with Becky's thoughts on the fact that people do not always change, even though we really want them to. Tough thing to hear...and obviously we do not know you or him personally, but I think it is a pretty fair statement. Becky, I think it's fine to play around with your diet. It is best to do what you feel is good for yo

Hi ladies, Becky, I really dont know what to say about hair loss. I am not very knowledgeable on the subject, but I think it's a good idea to post your question in the general forum. Also, thanks for raising the question of supplements. I do not take anything but I think I should start with B-12. I can go raw for a few weeks but the find myself craving non-vegan things, and I think it

Hi ladies! Sounds like you're both doing great! I am thrilled because I just moved out of the house I was staying in and into my own place. I have a roommate but I'm not going to feel pressure to eat with her or anything...consequently I've been 100 percent raw today! Oh and I agree with both of you that raw almond butter (and all nut butters for me) are completely addicting. They have t

Hi ladies - great to hear from both of you! Becky, I agree with Danielle - it is not at all weird to not want to explain yourself to people. I actually detest talking about my eating habits with others. People are very ignorant and judgmental, and I happen to be a very sensitive person who always wants to please others. This is not a good combination when you are eating at someone else's ho

Great to hear from you, Becky! I have been doing the exact same thing in terms of eating cooked food in order to not hurt people's feelings. Lately I have been around 75% raw, which is still pretty good for me. I did get a place to live with a Thai roommate though, so there will be many more 100% days in my future! Danielle, you are inspiring...wanting to eat cooked but resisting...AND goin

Danielle...I'm not exactly sure what kind of injury I have. Towards the end of October after a long run I suddenly had extreme pain/soreness in my lower back and butt muscle (sounds weird I know!). This was the most intense injury I've ever had and I really could not even walk normally for two weeks. Because of my abnormal walking my hip started to hurt during that time as well. I took four f

Hey ladies! Things are going well in Thailand. I ate a lot of raw foods today, including fresh squeezed OJ, pineapples, and watermelon. Oh, and also one of the raw food bars I brought with me. The fruit is sooooooooo good here...I just cannot wait until I'm more settled and have my own place to live so that I can quadruple my intake of it! The only thing that I am really frustrated about ri

Hi ladies! Well, I finally made it to Thailand! The flight was amazing. My mom was super nice and let me use her frequent flyer miles, which means I got to fly first class. The service was unbelievable - they had a menu you could order from at any time of the day and I had 3 fresh fruit plates! And they were seriously GOOD! I am so spoiled now I don't know how I can do another 13 hour fli
