Ouch Meow. Sorry about your day. First of all, I absolutely hate when anything interferes with my running/workout schedule! I completely depend on exercise to reduce stress and make me feel good and I am just not fun to be around when that doesn't happen! Also, car troubles stress me out a ton as well. Sounds like you have a good attitude though...life definitely does throw curveballs at you

Hey ladies! Becky - we miss you! Danielle - that is really interesting about the potassium, I sometimes wonder if I'm overdoing it when I eat tons of bananas - it's nice to have a reason to not worry about that! So today was a complete learning experience for me. It was the most "cooked" day I've had in a while, and I felt completely exhausted for the better part of the day.

Hello! Meow, I still haven't perfected the cherry vanilla smoothie. The first time I tried I did one banana, about 1/2 small bag of frozen cherries, and some vanilla (which I didn't measure). It was way too vanilla-y! Today I added 3 small bananas, the other 1/2 of the bag of cherries, and 1 tbsp vanilla, and it was better but not quite as creamy as I would have liked. The one I had at the

I should also add that I have not thought of any New Years Resolutions. I dont want to make them just for the sake of making them, and I'm happy with how things are going in my life right now...but if I think of anything I'll let you ladies know.

Happy New Year Ladies! Yes, it is 12:20am in NY and I am obviously not at any sort of party...I am staying at my parents house right now which is not where I grew up and hence not near any old friends to party with...and due to my traveling/vagabond lifestyle I dont have a stable place where I live right now, and hence no stable friends to party with either...yes it is kind of sad but I had fu

Hi ladies! Update from yesterday: I had a salad for dinner with raw tahini dressing, yum...and berries with a little dark chocolate for dessert. Danielle - I also want to thank you for posting that comment about what a waste of energy it is to worry about your weight when you are not fat. I used to weigh myself religiously and feel so much happier and more free now that I have ditched the

Hey ladies! Danielle - glad to hear you are enjoying LA. I was actually born there and have family in Santa Monica, San Diego, and San Francisco, so I go out to CA quite a bit. It's so nice to live in a place you really enjoy - I am hoping that will be me while I'm in Thailand! Becky - Hope you are still enjoying Israel! Today has been good for me. I had a fairly productive morning ge

Hi ladies! Meow - I think Kombucha tastes okay and it really invigorates me. My mom literally cannot stand it,,,she always makes ugly faces at me when i take it out of the fridge, haha. Optimist - you are doing GREAT. I am really impressed at your ability to stay raw while on a group trip. Today for me was good: AM workout: 4 mile run, 1 mile powerwalk, 15 minutes of pilates B: 2 a

Hi ladies! Great to be on the forum again. My bf and I were in San Diego last night visiting my grandparents, and then I had to get up super early to fly back to NY today. I didnt even get much of a chance to walk around the airport, so I'm really looking forward to some physical activity tomorrow. It will also be nice to not be a guest in someones house (my bf and I went to his parents hous

Hi ladies! Quick post again - you both sound like you're doing well! Today I've had: B: grapes, 2 bananas, an apple, and a few raw almonds L: diced mango, and some raw cheese (optimist, this is something I think I'm going to be including in my diet. As of right now, I do feel like I get a bit protein deprived being 100% vegan...that may change, but as of now raw cheese every few days a

Hey ladies! I didn't post yesterday because I was flying most of the day, but I am finally in Tuscon. Did a pretty good job of staying raw yesterday. I just had bananas, apples, and almonds on the plane, more fruit when I got to my bf's parents house, and a salad for dinner. I did not eat the giant beef and cheese filled lasagna that accompanied the salad - yuck. Today so far I've had:

Meow - Thanks for your support! Give Shima my best wishes as well. My step-dad has two cats and I absolutely love them. I hope she is doing better today! So I went to this all-organic health food store yesterday and picked up some raw cacao-goji energy bites, after seeing them in your meals Meow. They are really good, a lot better than lara bars actually! I also got some kombucha - this s

Hi ladies, Optimist - your meals sound great. Also sounds like you have good ambitions for raw eating while in Chicago and Israel. I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself though. For me it is almost easier to eat raw when I am relaxed about it and make those choices because they make me feel good, rather than because I "have to" stay 100%. Meow - Hope your day gets better!

Hi ladies! Sorry I didnt check in yesterday - I was running around NYC, and then had to go back in today to pick up my Visa. I ate mostly raw, although its hard to remember what exactly I ate so I wont post that, haha. Today was good. Meals look good for both of you! Meow - hope you have fun with the boy. So I am a little annoyed at my mom right now. Nothing major except that her and my stepdad refuse to heat the house to a normal level. They are pretty hardcore environmentalists, which is good, but I dont think 60 degrees inside is acceptable when its below freezing outside. I literally stand around and shake sometimes

Hi ladies! Meow - I hope you are feeling better! I just bought a whole bunch of pink lady apples - they are one of my favorite varieties! Optimist - Congrats on being done with exams! Well my day went really well. I got in an amazing 6-mile run in the cold, and had some nice meals including: Breakfast: Green smoothie (spinach, fresh squeezed OJ, and frozen banana, YUM) and a few wal

Hi ladies, Wow, you are both doing awesome! I missed posting yesterday because I was in the car all day driving home, but I made it safely to my moms house in NY. I'll be here for a week, then visiting my bf for a week, then back here for 10 days...then its off to Thailand... I have come to the realization that it is going to be nearly impossible to eat raw this whole time unless I tell p

Wow, thank you optimist, I really, really appreciate your support and non-judgment! GOOD LUCK on your exams! It is amazing how one day of bad eating makes me feel so crappy, and then one day of pure, healthy, raw food, can nearly reverse that feeling. I got up and went for a 50 minute run with a few walk breaks, then did pilates...and then ate a large brunch around 10am consisting of: Bru

Hi ladies! Sorry I didnt post yesterday, things were crazy. I did eat raw but then I had a bit of a binge on non-raw foods . That was SO incredibly frustrating, and I am almost embarrassed to admit it, but I want to feel like I can be completely honest and get no judgment on this forum. I have had a bingeing problem in the past, when I was recovering from an ED that left me underweight,

Meow - how great about the no cramps! I am experiencing a benefit of raw right now - it is nearly 11pm and I am not tired in the least bit, which for me is amazing because I get up at 5 every week day to teach my super early class. In the past with this schedule I COULD NOT get less than 8 hrs of sleep/night and I was always trying to find time to nap during the day. It's amazing how much bett

Hello ladies! I have GREAT news...I am 99% sure that I will be spending the next few months in THAILAND. I am so psyched about this, I almost want to thank my bosses for laying me off because that is how I stumbled upon this awesome opportunity. Not only do I love to travel, but Thailand is a great location for raw foods - helloooo fresh, tropical fruit! Optimist - I think your getting ba

Hi Optimist and Meow! Sounds like you are both doing great. I have had a few non-100% days here...nothing major, just the occasional bread or cereal, and today it was mashed potatoes. I plan on getting back to it when I go home this Thursday, but for right now the family I'm staying with likes when I eat with them and I feel awkward not having anything....excuses, excuses, I know. but also I

Hi Meow, Sorry to hear about your boss. I have been in that situation before and know how frustrating it can be. Anyway, I think you have a great attitude (as usual!) that this just might be the push you need. I am slowly getting more towards 811 by cutting out fats. It is hard because I do feel like I need a little fat, and it is hard to keep that little from turning into a LOT.

I agree that the longer we stay raw the easier it seems, last night was truly an exception because I was freezing. I, too, have more refined taste buds now and am picky about my fruit! I used to be able to eat sub-par apples but now no way! So just finished up my meals for day 5. Only had tomatoes with a little romaine and fresh guacamole tonight, followed by some grapes and figs. Not too

Great hearing from you, Optimist! So I have stayed raw today despite being home at the HOUSE OF TEMPTATION, lol. I am staying with a family right now and after eating cooked food last night I felt like emotionally eating more today, and I was at home all day since I don't teach until this afternoon... BUT I STAYED RAW (thanks to willpower and knowing I would have to report to you!). It

Great job, optimist! Well today will be day 5, since I ate some steaming soup last night! I went for an hour run and was literally frozen when I got back, and the family I'm staying with had hot soup for dinner. I dont feel bad about it, and I look forward to more delicious raw food today. I will write tonight when I have consumed all my raw meals .
