Elephants don't need to display these types of tricks to show me how amazing they are. People exploit them for amusement due to their intelligence and sensitivity, which really disgusts me. I appreciate the fact that this elephant was in the photo was rescued, but none-the-less, it would be best if elephants could just be free to be themselves in the wild. It is so sad. The greatest danger to

I think people should be careful not to judge a person that they don’t deem ‘pure’ enough. I respect anyone on a conscious dietary path, whatever level it is. From what I have seen a conscious path with food has the tendency to become progressively refined. People need to work within a framework that is conducive and comfortable for them. My friend is moving towards being vegan. She is re

I tend to think of any form of nationalism as being destructive and limiting. Do you feel that there is a positive form of it? How do you express it?

Yerba mate is a great alternative to coffee. It promotes sustained energy, is good for digestion, rich in minerals, amongst other things. This is a good brand:

These are some quotes that I like: “There is no greater fallacy than the belief that aims and purposes are one thing, while methods and tactics are another.” -Emma Goldman "Flags are bits of colored cloth which governments use first to shrink-wrap people's brains and then later as a burial shroud for the dead." ~ Arundhati Roy "To love. To be loved. To never forget yo

I love to paint. I use oil and guache for the most part. I want to switch to eco-friendly paints and start using eco-friendly hemp for my canvas. I will continue using the paint I already have, but when that runs dry would love to switch over. Then I think I will feel really complete and happy about the art that I make. Is anyone familiar with any vegan/natural paint (oil or water-based) or

I generally think television is garbage and watch little of it. Television is a powerful medium. What could be more powerful than having a box in nearly every person home that projects images and sounds into the minds of trance to semi-trance people? When I watch television (as a conscious consumer) I find myself scrutinizing nearly every thing I hear, pointing out the absurdity of advertising

when life's path splits in front of you and you don't know whether to go left or right? It isn't clear what way to go because both paths seem concurrent with the things that you want from life, just in different ways. Do you listen to the ether for clues? Play eenie meenie miny mo? I am just curious because I am in the situation. It is exciting, a tinge stressful.

I have been vegetarian since I was twelve (I am 26), vegan for about 5 years, nearly raw for a couple of years, completely raw for a couple of months (no going back). I have never tried to influence the way he eats. I think he projects it onto me because he might feel slightly uncomfortable about it himself, yet he isn't ready to give it up.

Culturally speaking, people percieve meat-eating as 'macho'. I think this line of thinking is extremely dumb, but I know many people who percieve vegetarian/vegan men as being less masculine. Some family members would scoff at them. In women it seems to be more accepted. This obviously depends on the type of people you are dealing with, but I am speaking at a very general societal level. Whenever my husband eats meat and dairy he acts strangely - he sort of hides it from my view. I never look at or scrutinize his food choices. I am very careful to be sensitive about this area. I never react in any way towards what he is eating. I do read alot of books about food and am always trying new and *strange* things. I am also interested in herbal healing and am constantly discoverin

I think I feel love in the heart because it is direct connection with the primal life force. It is both beyond and more archaic than the mind. That is why love has a long history of an association with the heart and it is associated with the color red (the color of our blood), because this connection has been intuitively felt by people for eons. Love is deeper and more magnificent than anything

As Sundancer stated, your post made my heart sing. My heart sings when nature overpowers me and the only appropriate response is to bow down in reverence, rapturously dance to the rhythm that surrounds me or throw my hands up to the stars while my spirit soars to infinite depths. Anything that causes me to reflect on great mystery of existence while reveling in the astounding beauty of nature

I have suffered with TMJ since I was a child. I am prone to migraine headaches (I think triggered by TMJ). I don't know if it just a coincidence or not, but since going raw I haven't had migraines and my jaw has felt okay. Recently my jaw has been feeling a little sore and I have a dull headache. I haven't had this pain in a while, so it surprised me a little when it came on. Anyways, I feel
