I couldn't eat locally even if I tried/wanted, because here during winter we only have local sweet fruits such as apples/pears, which is not enough variety for me. We never grow here bananas/oranges/clementines and other exotic fruits, so eating locally for me would mean eating a very poor variety of sweet fruits. The same happens with the non-sweet fruits and veggies, only imported ones duri

Today I was searching on the internet for houses to move in and I found a very nice 1 room house in a very beautiful area with mountains and hills and meadows, a good price and a lot of space for gardening (like 1174 hectares on the whole). It was 6000 euro. My husband rejected my idea of moving there, he’d rather live in the city. So there it goes my desire to live in the countryside and grow

I think that we should use the fact that the meat they eat is bad to support the raw vegan lifestyle, together with the fact that meat is not good for them in the first place. It's like someone is taking anti-smoking pills while he/she is massively smoking. And then being worried that the pills have side effects. Worrying that the meat they eat is bad is not important since eating meat is n

Yesterday and today I read the forum here about juicers and blenders. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that before, it is a very interesting forum as well and I’m thankful for it. I will also look again in the recipes forum. Today I watched some videos about green smoothies among which 2 were by Sergei Boutenko (I never watched his videos, they are just great). I also saw some smooth

Suncloud, that was a great post you wrote, and a very true one. I had times when I thought I could eat only fruits (and I mean only sweet fruits), but after a few days I started craving non-sweet fruits and veggies and greens (like cauliflower and cabbage and lettuce and dill) and when I was looking at tomatoes I immediately craved them. So yes, IMO I believe an only sweet fruit diet is not

The cruel truth is that we can't. And we should not even try to. All we need to do is be a positive example ourselves and show the others how great and healthy and colorful it is to be a raw vegan. Personally I stopped trying to convince anyone, as I saw it just doesn't work. The tradition of unhealthy eating is just too powerful to be changed at this point. I tried it with my family, with the

I searched some more on the internet and I found out that Grundig products are indeed no longer made in Germany, and that blenders were made only after Turkish company Beko bought the Grundig brand (until then, Grundig only made radios and tv sets, so they were never into blenders and mixers and such kitchen appliances). I’m sure that their products are still good, but I’d rather go with Swis

Last summer I bought wild raspberries and I enjoyed eating them until I saw there were ones with small white berry worms. Then I suddenly lost my appetite and I immediately thought I was no longer a vegan. But it wasn't like I intentionally ate the worms (in case I actually ate any before I realized it). Still, I haven't bought wild raspberries anymore. I could say they were not vegan but they we

These days I was still looking on the internet for good blenders. I narrowed my search down to two choices: Classic Mix made by Trisa of Switzerland (so made in Switzerland) and Grundig Black Line Premium (but not made in Germany since the company was taken over by Turkey, and it is said that their products are made in China). Here these two blenders are within the $80 - $120 range if new (and I

Jtprindl - yes, it would be ideal that all pet owners treat their pets with love and respect. Unfortunately this isn't so and there are already so many stray cats and dogs that will obviously need to be put to sleep at some point. Regarding pets' diet, my grandmother's dog just loves polenta with cheese/yoghurt, corn flakes with milk, homemade chicken and veggie soup, and also fruits (and, of

I wonder why and who came up with the idea of having pets, considering that most of them live in appartments and don't have total freedom. In the country I live in, people get pets then just abandon them when they don't have the time or the desire to take care of them. Here there are plenty of stray dogs and cats and now there is a law that allows them to be killed unless someone is willing t

I wanted to buy a good blender as I don’t have one so I looked on the internet for different brands. I was disappointed as most of them, even the famous Vita Mix, had negative reviews as well that made me change my mind. Besides, here a Vita Mix would be like $800 which is way too much. I also saw the Nutribullet 900 Pro Series which is small but does a great job, still expensive here. I wil

Hey Paul I was looking on the internet today in search for a good blender as I don't have one. What blender do you think is best as regarding price/quality? Price is also a problem for me, the good ones are way too expensive for me to afford. I read your journey going 100% raw vegan so far and I wish you all the best in succeeding to stay 100% for the rest of your life. It is not easy, b

Yeah, Gary said that his dog was vegan for the last 9 years of his life and when he took him to the vets for check-up, the vets said that he has the healthiest dog they have ever seen. Gary also mentioned that the pet food is terrible for their health, all kinds of left-overs mixed into the pretty packages. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today my husband and I went to the supermarket and bought like 6 kg of bananas – good ones, I put them inside the wardrobe to get ripe together with some red apples. Also today I entered a nature’s bio shop and I was delighted to see there all the stuff I saw on the internet, like seaweed and algae, nori sheets, kombu, all kinds of nuts and seeds, dates, banana chips, all kinds of flours

Today I was in for a great surprise. I checked the label of all my clothes (those that had one) and I reviewed my whole wardrobe. I discovered that I actually had several woolen clothes, including my one and only long winter jacket. So I put all the respective clothes and other articles (and everything else that I suspected might be from wool/silk) in 2 large bags and I will donate them to a chur

There are also cruelty images towards the end. Make sure to also watch the Q & A part which is also on youtube but in a different video. I watched the whole video. My heart went to all the animals being abused and slaughtered. It reminded me once again why I'm vegan before being a raw vegan. I think being a vegan is far more important than turning into a raw vegan when talking about ani

My bananas are now spotty and ripe, I now got back the taste for bananas. I started a new batch of raw salt-free sauerkraut, I’m looking forward to enjoying it as well when it’s ready (I will combine it with frozen peas / fresh dill / tomatoes). My menu: For January 7 I forgot to add to Chronometer the 3 tomatoes – 49.1 cals / 78.7% carbs / 12 % proteins / 9.3% lipids. January

Due to my disability, I no longer have a job, I got retired this year and I get a financial retirement of like $100/month. When I reach the normal and legal retire

I made sauerkraut without using any type of salt, just cabbage and clean water. I let the chopped cabbage covered in water in a jar and with a weight on at the room temperature for like 2-3 days, then in the fridge with the lid on for like 6-7 days. It turned out perfect and delicious, salt-free. I ate it with either tomatoes or dill, for that natural slightly salty taste. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here is a video, I think it's useful as related to what you've been asking, just watch it all the way through: It helps me watching videos of Kristina, Freelee, Megan Elizabeth, Doug Graham, Matt Monarch, Mimi Kirk and other raw foodists. I have been experiencing some detox symptoms myself while on high raw and at some point I reached a fever of 40 degrees C. As I read that when fever reaches/is over 40 degrees C it is no longer detox, I took medication to calm it down. I hesitated a lot and felt like I betrayed my principles (because I didn’t want to use chemicals ever again) and I felt disappointed and I felt like a coward, bu

Thank you for your advice, jtprindl I am eating every hour or every two hours as I do not like to eat only 2-3 large meals a day. I don’t feel good when I have a full belly, even if it’s from raw fruit/veggies, so I rather have small amounts at a time, several times a day or throughout the day. I like grazing better than fewer larger meals. Sometimes I eat because I’m hungry, somet
