oh wow, great posts. This is going to help my tahina addiction sooo much! (I DON'T LIKE CRACKING NUTS AT ALL. My mother had those nutcrackers/picks on the table constantly with nuts as a kid. I hated walnuts the most, though I like Brazilnuts and macadamias...but could never eat too many when I had to do the work myself) I am the poster child of Tahina Addiction. I think that should be

OK Sunshine, clarify this for me: YOU SHRUNK TO THIS SIZE EVEN THOUGH you lost only 10 lbs in a year? I am a size 6 currently, just off cooked a month. Wow, inspiring. I wonder why the boobs are getting bigger, though. Perhaps it is a hormonal thing?

Wow, interesting comment, Suvine. My biggest boggle on the 25th day of raw (from omni cooked), has been the bouts of what I thought were immense attention deficit 'space outs'. I had no idea that it could merely be another symptom of detox! Ok, I must be pouring off the toxins lately. I've been spacey even for MYSELF. I am nearly ready to go the mono diet thing. I am pretty convinced

you have NO IDEA how great it was to read this! (not that I am happy that you retoxed, I'm not) Tomorrow I have a funeral. The hubby and I talked tonight about being tempted by all the cooked goodies at the dinner afterwards. Tomorrow in the 25th day of (mostly 100 percent) raw for us and feeling good/healthy/not sick is very important, especially during this grief we are going through. Ho

Nope, I generally tend to either tell the truth or fall silent. Fooling others, I've seen people do, but it tends to waste too much energy. However, some people ARE REALLY positive for others, yet have a major hard time being positive for THEMSELVES. I see this a lot. That is why support groups are great. We all mirror eachother's experiences, you see. I truly believe this. Reali

Lovely answer, Bryan. Your posts were one of the reasons I subscribed to this forum...your transformation was amazing/ coconutcream- it's been my experience that people, when in a positive mindset, tend to have positive thoughts about others as well. To have so many people united under this common bond is an awe-inspiring thing in itself...so many islands and seas of judgement out there.

raw nibs are kinda bitter, like coffee beans. Intense chocolate flavor. Eat out of hand with a sweet fruit if you like coffee beans. Blend/powder for shakes and brownies. Warning- They kinda make you have to 'go'. Also, my middle son, who is prone to coldsores, broke out with 2 this morning after eating a dehydrator pan full of brownies. There's high argnine content in chocolate and thi

Oh benetgirl...if this is detoxing, it sucks. I gained like 5 lbs this week and from my chest to my knees feel like a throbbing, sore mass. I took motrin and I feel LOADS BETTER. I tried no pills and ended up sobbing in a ball on the bed. I've laid down most of last two days, but have a funeral in morning (with cooked food waiting, which hubby and I discussed staying AWAY FROM) and need to

oooh the 13 yr old OFFICIALLY announced that he was no longer eating meat! However, getting him to live off of more than cereal and milk and oatmeal might take more doing. He ate an entire pan of raw dehydrated cacao brownies when he came home from school Peisnoe-that sounds like my little one! He does the same thing.

My one chance with the 13 yrs old is that he is SO VAIN. He is constantly worried about his weight/skin/GIRLS. His older brother's skin is clearing up thanks to the new diet, so he is starting to take notice. Luckily, he LOVES SMOOTHIES. I've been giving him shakes at every turn, so that he is too full to want junk or meat later. I show him all the buff people and their skin. I think it may

THANKS FOR THE TIPS! My problem with the youngest is that he LOVES his ranch and green goddess salad dressing. I've switched him to raw oatmeal and no dairy usually...he could easily do with only cooked vegetarian meats and salads and fruits in whole form. He doesn't like smoothies nor 'mixed' things. My major prob is the 13 yr old boy who hates veggies and loves meat. He has a George F

(another thing that seems to have become the kid's mantra in my house is: if you eat something DEAD, you have to put something LIVE in right away.) My kid says we are 'fruit vampires' and that we 'must feed' so we can live forever...hehe. He calls the SAD kids 'mortals'. He kinda has a HUGE imagination.

hehehe, the 'problem' with this kid is that he doesn't like shakes or chocolate...he wants to make 'freshly squeezed juice' in the juicer. He is really picky, but tends to want to eat bananas, grapes, broccoli, and salad. Luckily, he isn't into rice (which is weird, because I am half Asian and the rest of the boys LOVE it), which makes it easier to trasition him. My child has asthma, is AL

I've been dehydrating some cacao-pecan brownies this evening and decided to put some pattie sized dollops of the pate into the dehydrator to see how they would taste... OMG THEY ARE THE BEST VEGGIE BURGERS EVER. It is even better than the pate! The flavors combine so well and the taste is AMAZING. They are even better than Gardenburgers. I betcha the spices could be tweaked and they could b

My youngest is 8 and has taken to the raw (well, he is about 70 percent now, which is better than the older ones who can cook their food) really well. Today he was home because he had his tonsils removed last week. I made him a cacao shake and he looked at me quite seriously and said: "I want REAL food before I have a chocolate shake...I want BROCCOLI" We laughed about it late
