Hi mindy66, I've raised red wrigglers & they've done well. This time I'm going to start a bed of Alabama Jumpers (sometimes called georgia jumpers). They are a lot stronger than red wrigglers at pushing through the soil & aerating it. Make sure to keep yours out of full sun & if you ever run low on produce for them (like maybe in winter), then just sprinkle on a little corn meal &

Hi Rayshack, I'm glad you got good news concerning the biopsy! Choosing to stay at least 50% raw is good too, although you know how to do more later, should you decide to. I've been putting in a garden lately. This time just heirlooms. I've also been freezing some green juice in mason jars so my husband can drink it at work. It's not optimal nutrition but it helps out. Wishing you the best &

I'm praying for you but I'm not worried for you. You have all that you need to beat anything. Plus you sound kind of tough. Yikes, I'd hate to tangle with you!lol. Your gaining"nutritional knowledge" & that's a great step in the right direction. Although I don't know you, I'll think of you as my sister in christ & say love ya & I'm sending an "airmail hug " of su

Hi everyone, I'm just popping in for a moment to say the raw foods diet & my exercise is still going well. Also, I have really been feeling a hunger to draw closer to God recently. I've been a christian since I was 11 yrs old but this strong hunger/need/desire to feel the fire of God on me is of such an intensity that I don't really know how to say it. I haven't felt like this before. I'm j

I think that giving a discussion on rude behavior, etc. at public events would have been quite appropriate. I agree with Tamukha also. You could have politely asked them to tone it down because being able to hear the band was the main reason everyone came to the event. I, myself would have asked politely. Peace!

Hi nikki, Warmest welcome to you. I was vegetarian, then vegan and now raw. I've tried to be 100% raw several times before getting it. It takes time sometimes but don't give up and never stop trying. It 's well worth it. It's good that you want to learn more about raw foods, I do too. Hang in there and I'm glad you found us!!!!

Hi, everyone. I'm still mostly raw and I 'm finding it easier to have all raw days now. Yeah!! I just don't seem to crave the steamed vegetables any more. I'm down to eating a meal of that once a week now. Today is the day I have decided to go all raw. This is a big deal to me, as I really didn't feel comfortable when trying 100% raw before. My taste buds have been telling me that all of the coo

Hi lvi rose, Oh my gosh! To describe my chiro experienc in one word I would have to say painful! That's just the way it is for right now though. As things progress & the muscles get retrained ,it will be less painful. Thanks for the raw okra recipie. Sounds tasty. I'll have to make some. As far as the stained glass, I haven't taken any classes or anything. I just learned from books & yout

Hi lvi rose, I'm pretty hard / strict on myself at times too, so what I do is to rely on God & do the best I can with things. Both my husband & I are typical type A's & so is our daughter. Just chill, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, smile & continue forward to your sweet healthy success. Talk to you later.

Hi lvi rose, I have an only child too. I'm sorry for your loss. It's great that your off the medications completely now. I admire you for caring enough about yourself to take care of your health. Maybe your gym offers massages to help with the stress. I wish the 24hr gym near my house would. Glad you "found" hubby.

Hi lvi rose. It's nice to hear from you. I went to Augusta one time to buy a sulpher crested cockatoo. The area I was in was pretty rural & quiet. Nice place. All is going well here. I think that maybe 1 reason more people are interested in raw food/health, is because the "baby boomers" are feeling the results of the

Hello Kyralamb. Yes, the sugar & white flour is highly addictive but you can succeed! You have very strong reasons to do so. There's no diabetes in my family, but my dad had 3 heart attacks & the 3rd one killed him at age 53. He ate nearly everything in a fried form, & salad to him was iceberg lettuce, cucumber & tomato. I wish you tons of support & the best of health for you

Thanks Mona. I looked at your diary and I appreciate your honesty & you sharing your helpful tips & experiences with us. I'll have to check back in more often. Your diary has so much to read!! Things are good with me right now, though I am incredibly busy. Also, I am thinking of trying to do a little volunteer work . Maybe just 1 day at a food pantry or something. It would be nice to hel

My daughter has been a vegetarian (cooked food mostly) for about 9 years. Today she asked me if I knew of a light weight juicer that she could carry to work with her. She really would like to include a lot of raw veg juice into her diet. Her main reason for this is to lose weight. She's 5 5'& 140 lbs. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Peace to all.

Thanks for your advice earthangel. I'm still juicing & eating raw & still losing weight. My energy level is good, & I'm still using my treadmill daily. Mixing up my forms of exercise because I do get bored easily. I like to pop in a movie dvd while exercising. I've been doing some yard work lately, but the pollen here in Ga is pretty difficult to stand. Wishing you all the best. Peace

Well, I've actually been craving okra, brussel sprouts & green beans. Keeping the green juices flowing. Starting exercise today. I'll start with 30 minutes & gradually increase the duration & style of exercise as I go along. I'm trying to make exercise a 5 day a week habit.

So I've been slipping up & eating some pretty bad cooked food. I'm not worried though, I'll just switch to having steamed vegetables when I want some hot food. Sometimes just a cup of hot herb tea works. So I'll stick to the fruits, veggies, juices (mostly green), smoothies & other raw foods until my diet is all raw or almost raw. For me, it's not so much a race to the finish line, but th

This is crap! Let them plant their gardens. I's a beautiful thing they are doing on so many levels. There is less & less "freedom" in America with every passing day. Stand your ground, but alas, I guess "the man' will try to make you pay. Oh, what a mess this world is.
