Wheatgrass Yogi I would argue that not very many animals in the wild live to 80-90 years old, so many of them never get the chance to have cavities. I say see a dentist, at the very least have them look for abnormalties. If you've had dental work in the past it will need updating overtime. Better a check up than a sore tooth. I wear a plastic retainer 24 hours a day, I'm sure the plastic is

Lately I've been "hitting a wall" at 2 in the afternoon at work everyday, about an hour after I eat. Typical day: Wake up at 7 am Apple, bannana and green smoothie 8-9 am green salad, fruit salad, and somet1mes a handful of nuts or seeds for lunch. 12-1 ( I sit in front of a computer all day so I typically take a half hour walk around this time) Dinner, little fruit juice,

I live in Michigan... Brrrrrrrrr!!!! Does anyone here that lives in a cooler climate find that they adjust their diet for the colder months? Do you drop down from 100% or increase fats???? Do you heat up more meals in a dehydrator? I just find that my body seeks different foods in different seasons. In summer all I want is salad and fruit. But mid-january I find myself eating sprouted Ez

"If you are a person with sensitive skin, diet can help and some say a raw diet may eventually eliminate allergies. But you might also have to identify and remove non-food triggers from your environment." Oops! Might I add I'm not implying getting rid of your pets if that is indeed the cause because that would be cruel and horrible. I'd rather look like a garbage pail kid with a fa

I'm reviving this topic because it is a hard one. Acne has been a huge frustration in my life. I have suffered from acne for almost ten years. I am 24. I get it mostly on my back and chin. When I go raw vegan it clears up for the most part and I am convinced that my acne is mainly from consuming dairy products. However I have noticed a non-food related cause of my acne as well...you might n

We have had ants in our house for years...little black ones you would see them here and there all summer long but nothing too crazy. We thought they were getting in through cracks and under the doors until we found their huge colony in the wall beneath the living room window. Literally tens of thousands of them living between the drywall and the outer bricks. I don't have a suggestion for gett

I know that when I was in college and was very stressed and not eating enough my hair was falling out by the handfuls. I would literally have fistfuls of hair when I washed it and a clogged shower drain. Only my hair is really thick so it never showed. Eventually I finished school and had more time to eat and breath... My hair stopped falling out.

If you could learn to make tastier raw food for yourself you could just eat that as oppose to junk food. Maybe pick up a few raw food "cookbooks" and make yourself a surplus of tasty things. Find fast easy recipes with minimal ingredients and maximum taste. My favorite is grated walnuts, cinnamon and raw agave (dates if you prefer) on top of pears or bananas! Mmmmmmm. Better than an

I am strongly opposed to the idea that "Raw Food = orthorexia". But, sadly, I am beginning to believe that orthorexia might be a name for a legitimate illness if not simply a variation of OCD or Anorexia. Take the Enchantress's comment for instance. ....."Now my issue is drawing that line - I should really be in the hospital, but I won't go because, as all of us here k

Forgive me if this topic has been up and I missed it. What does everyone think about the concept of orthorexia? Certainly their are health foodists who take things to far, and that can be a major health concern. But couldn't a perfectly healthy raw foodists be misconstrued as having an eating disorder when compared to the typical American diet? Where is the line drawn? It seems natural we mu

Rawallison said: "People seem to really want blue eyes. I'm African American so I don't think about that stuff. My eyes were dark brown when I was 100% raw last year, and I expect they will always be dark brown as I get back to raw this year. I would love for the whites to get whiter because there are spots on them, but other than that, beautiful brown eyes work for me!" I feel v

This may sound way too weird. I am only 24 and have never (ever) experienced joint pain beyond temporary injuries. I'm getting back into raw and suddenly experiencing joint pain. It will be in one part of my body and then an hour later in a totally different part of my body. It seems to be jumping from one place to the next, but usually it is in places where I've injured myself in the distant

Maybe you could get a doctors note and bring it with you. It's totally reasonable that someone would not be able to eat the crap they serve at concerts; allergies, diabetes, thyroid disorders, recent surgery...or just trying to lose or gain weight. Or the second option would be to call the company that's putting on the concert and tell them the truth...If they knew there was a big enough de

By no means am I a raw food angel but here is what helps me. Try to really focus on how you feel after you eat. Eat something standardly American and bad for you at lunch one day when you aren't busy. Then sit down and really focus on how you feel. Eat a full raw meal for dinner (my favorite is a nice salad and pineapple juice) and again really focus on how you feel. For me those feeli

Perhaps you aren't taking in enough calories. I know that when I was in college and very stressed and not eating enough my hair was falling out by the handfuls in the shower. Only I have ridiculously thick hair so I never worried about it. Eventually I finished school and had more time to eat and breath...lol. My hair stopped falling out.

I was just about to come on this forum and ask a question about raw food and body odors when I found this post. I've only been raw for about a week and a half, and I'm not quite 100% but suddenly my body odor and breath has changed, I don't smell like myself! I smell like dirty garlic or someone else's BO. It's on my hands, my armpits and my breath. Yuck! Even my boyfriend noticed and said so

I'm a little over one week into RAW, and really I'm only about 80% RAW, at this point, I still enjoy light cooked veggie meals with salads when I go out to eat. I'm inching my way into RAW after being a Lacto-OVO Vegetarian for 10 years. I've been reading all about raw spaghetti with squash pasta and decided to make some only I didn't follow a recipe. I went to the store and bought green onions,

My dog started limping and lost a lot of weight a few weeks ago. The vet says she has an enlarged heart, a growth in her esophogus, a bad liver, a possible twist in the intestine, and a bad spot in her spine. As of right now she is happy and relatively active. I just discovered raw food for myself, and now I'm wondering what I can do to help my dog. Does anyone know any changes I could make t
