Okay...I just got back from the market and got the African Citrus Mango tea and the Teechino. I figure I'll just out there and try both. If I don't like the tea, my daughter loves tea...and oranges...and mangos. I got invididual packets of the Teechino in 4 different flavors to try. I'm excited. I need to get me a nut bag. I tried using cheese cloth and it didn't work very well. Does anyone k

Someone on this board gave mr some very helpful advice (I think it was perbetty)...you have a certain "mindset" concerning food...associations that you've made through the years that are well-ingrained in your mind and only you can identify them and decide if they are right, wrong, irrational, skewed, etc. Someone with an ED thinks about food differently than other people, so first of

I'm so glad its Friday. My weight loss this morning was 49 lbs even. I was hoping to hit 50lbs today, but that's okay. I'll get there in a few days. I'm still 100% raw...9 days and holding. Honestly, I didn't think I could do it this long without cheating, so I'm really proud of myself. Yesterday was an emotionally stressful day and I didn't cheat, although I felt hungrier than usual. Actually,

I have an excalibur dehydrator. I haven't had a whole lot of success with dehydrating foods other than flax seed crackers. I use it about 1x a week right now. I want to experiment more as I have the time and the funds. I hate throwing food out that is ruined or uneatable. I also have Alissa Cohen's book. She has a raw replacement for many comfort-type cooked foods. Again, I experiment as I have t

I'm so proud of you Pam. You are making really good decisions about your health and diet at a terribly difficult time. Can you imagine how great you'll do when the difficulties pass? If you can stay raw during this...you can make it through anything. Keep up the great work!

The only crackers I've made are from flax seed. THe base is equal parts flax seed soaked overnight in equal parts water. Then you mix them in the food processor with whatever other flavors you want...onion, garlic, etc. You spread the mix on the teflex sheet and dehydrate. Pretty easy. The spreading part is the hardest part.

My first month I only had a blender. I used it for smoothies and then ate fresh fruit and salads for the rest. I use my blender every day. The food processor is next for me...for making dressings, puddings, and raw desserts. I use my food processor about 2 times a week. The dehydrator is an extra. I've yet to make anything in it I couldn't live without. I use my juicer mostly for my husband, mayb

Thanks everyone for the info. Actually, I feel much better today. Yesterday was just a really weak day and it concerned me. I do think I am still going through detox still, I just hadn't really thought about it much. And like smilebig said, I do welcome this because I know my body is getting stronger. I was doing the 80-10-10 thing, but found I cheated on it most of the time. If I allow m

Pam, I'm really glad you are feeling some better today. I know how hard it is to look up when situations look hopeless. But when you are truly down, there is no where to look but up. I believe you will be able to find strength inside yourself to do whatever you need to do and pray that God will give you the plan you need for your situation. Then you will have the BEST plan! You are obviously a st

Just from reading your post, it sounds alot like me when I first went raw. I came to find out it wasn't the avocado and nuts that were putting weight on me...it was the non raw stuff, like the pizza and sandwhiches you mentioned. My downfalls were tortillas, chips, rice and pasta...even just a little at the end of a totally raw day, with otherwise low fat (10-20%). If I'm 100% raw, I can eat avoc

Feeling good today...better than yesterday, but its early. Weight down 1 lb which is good since I stayed the same yesterday. I don't think hit my goal by tomorrow but I certainly will next week. In another 1.2 lbs I'll have lost 50 lbs. I haven't been at this weight since 1995 when I was taking Fen-phen (another ugly chapter in my life). Thank God I never had any of those heart valve problems bec

Well...I'm feeling better. I was gone from the house all day, so maybe I just got too hungry. Now that I've eaten and few hours have passed, I feel okay with no cravings. Here is what I ate today: Fruit Smoothie (2 bananas, 1 c blueberries, hemp protein, carob) 1 nectarine 1 Rawrevolution Bar ( I think that was its name) 1 avocado mock salmon pate (this was great and very easy to make) ra

Suncloud..when you speak of raw sprouted grain, are you ONLY referring to what is homemade and dehydrated? I'm assuming the sprouted bread from the health food store that is refrigerated is off limits on raw...or is it sometimes used by some as a transitional food? I'm trying to be 100% raw. I really miss bread but haven't given in to anything store bought. I haven't had much luck with making my

Thanks every one... Pistachio...I think my caloric intake is okay, but then I'm really not sure how many calories I really need as I'm trying to lose weight. Most caloric recommendations refer to SAD, so I'm not really sure. I just monitor what I eat along with my weight. If my weight goes up, I try to cut back a bit. Sunshine...I went through a heavy detox when I first went raw for abougt

179. No energy
I've pretty much always had low energy and I was hoping it would get better on raw. I think it has...although its hard to tell. I've been raw for 9 weeks, in varying percentages, but 100% for the last 7 days. I'm really tired and weak feeling and sometimes drop things. It's an effort to walk, although I'm really not in pain...it's just that my legs feel likw lead. I did my usual walk this morning
