Loeve.. I do know that the body needs sodium for optimum cell function... However, I don't think I suffer from a lack of sodium.. Because the water retention I've had over the last 6 years was actually helped by going on a 80-90% raw food diet... Additionally, I have absolutely no swelling in my hands and feet. It's all contained in my mid-section and my legs, above the ankles... The only time my

oh my gosh powerlifter.. You did mean rebounding using a mini like trampoline! I had no idea.. and when I visited a site regarding sluggish lymphatic system and read the symptoms I almost started to cry.. all these years that I've suffered from this and it might simply be tied to a sluggish lymphatic system.. They also suggested skin brushing and manuallymphatic stimulation massages... Thank

I don't think I've tried rebounding, as I am not even sure what that is... I think of rebounding as one of those little mini trampolines... but I have a strong sense that is not what you mean by "rebounding" *smile

Byran... Right now I am only eating fresh whole fruits and veggies.. however, they are not organic.. I can't afford organic due to cost of the food alone and the closest location for organic veggies and fruit is over 50 miles (one way)... bummer for me... The little grocery store I have in the town I work only has a very very limited amounts of organic.. I'd be limited to eating apples, bagged or

Hello I have questions about water retention....... I’ve suffered from water retention for probably 6 years. When I retain water, it’s only from the mid-drift down. Some days my waist will swell as much as 2 inches and my calves as much as an inch. It doesn’t seem to matter if I am at my optimum weight and fitness level or slightly overweight, as I am right now. (Being I’ve not been ve

La_veronique.... you asked about my ankle and how it was doing... it healed up very wellnow only occasionally feels stiff or hurts, usually in damp cold weather.. However my hardest recover came from major abdominal surgery that I had two weeks after I broke my ankle. The recovery was much more difficult and longer then I could have imagined... But each day I feel better and after a long dark wi

Hello everyone, As I write this post I feel sad, depressed, and mad at myself. In July 2007, I discovered the raw lifestyle. Suffering from many allergy symptoms and looking for some kind of relief, I stumbled upon this website. I immediately began to incorporate raw foods in my diet and cut out all wheat and sugars and felt really wonderful. Probably for the first time ever. Insomnia, headache

I first went raw in July of 2007. I am currently about 50 to 100% raw depending on my daily activities and sometimes cooked food cravings. I lost 30 lbs within the first 4 months. From there I plateaued all through the winter, which is just fine for me, as on average, a person (SAD eater) gains about 12 lbs over the winter. So, I was really happy to maintain my weightloss. Since the first of May

Hello All.. Wow I just love the changes you've all listed.. and now a few of my own, some of which have already been mentioned... I've been anywhere from 50-to-95% raw since last July. Most recently I've had a few more slips and have felt the effects in my joints and overall mental state. So, as of yesterday I've recommitted my original goals and I've been 100% raw for two days! It's a sta

Phantom.. ouch.... I too the last couple of days not only have my teeth been hurting.. but now my entire mouth has felt ravished.... Although instead of stepping up my raw, I have had a couple of slips this week.. I think the entire sore mouth thing is from cooked foods.. but the teeth and gums as everyone so far has said on here is probably from my high level of acid fruit intake... I am definit

Hello, I know this topic has come up before, so will apologize in advance for needing to revisit. First, a bit of background. I started drinking green smoothies for breakfast everyday the end of October 2007. I love them. However, over the winter I've been adding lots of fruits higher in acid, such as oranges, pineapples and kiwis. I've noticed over the last couple of weeks my teeth in front have

coco.. yes less conditioner does not work... It seems the larger amounts of conditioner is what is needed to lift the oil and dirt from the hair. At least that has been my experience... I use very cheap conditioner, the kind you can buy at the store for a $1.00 a bottle. I know the process I use is reverse, when I shampoo.. I only use the shampoo lightly to get rid of excess conditioner

I read on a hair care site a few months back about using only conditioner to clean your hair. I've used it quite successfully. Although I am sure it's just wax I am putting on my head and probably not good.. But wonder now if this would work to use say olive oil... or something natural. The procedure is simple... When I get in the shower I wet my hair, and I have very long hair, it's past my bra

brenna... I tell people this; "Do you know that veggies have all the essential amino acids found in meat protein and when we eat meat we have to break down the meat substance into the amino acid building block form that our bodies can use. If I just eat veggies and fruit the protein is available in a simplier form and the body doesn't have to do all the converting" This answer isn

I love my green smoothies!! I don't go a day without having one, usually for breakfast. I started slow in adding greens. I began with only a handful of greens to fruit ratio. Now I am way more heavy on the greens than the fruit. I will add an entire head of leaf lettuce or almost an entire bunch of kale or parsley to about 3 fruits. Some of my personal favorites 1 Honey Dew Melon 1 bun
