I'm still going back and forth between 100% raw and high raw. I eat quinoa, tempeh, and gluten free organic crackers sometimes.. I steam kale, chard and spinach.. I do wear makeup, like M.A.C. and NARS ( to cover up my genetical dark eye circles). As to skin and bodycare products, I make pretty much everything myself. I only buy organic soap. Lifestyle is not that natural.. I live in DC area,

I've been doing it for about 4 years ( ever since I gone raw) with coconut oil. My teeth has always been very poor since early childhood. I'm definitely getting less cavities. I have a lot of fillings, and about 5 root canals. Since oil pulling is detoxing, I believe it helps to keep my dental situation stable. I also add 1 drop of clove or oregano essential oils, those really help to kill bacte

I have a friend who's not raw, but vegan. She drinks a glass of carrot juice daily, her vision has been improving over the years significantly. Carrots are well known for being good for the eyes.

I know this is not exactly what the original poster is seeking. But I'll share anyway, maybe someone else find it helpful. I rented this house for about $90 a night last year in Costa Rica The day I arrived I went to the local market with large backpack, stocked up on luscious ripe tropical fruit, and had myself an amazing retreat for a week. There are plenty of trails there, lots of exotic w

<<<<littlemermaid maybe i'll try the apple vinegar rinse too after shampoo coconut sounds good will it create a build up though? >>>> Coconut won't create build up, if you use just 1-2 drops ( depends on your hair length). Rub it between you palms, they should be just a little bit shiny, not greasy, and just run your palms over your hair. Vinegar rinse has a clari

Year, Dr. Bronner's is very drying for hair, no wonder it would tangle. I use apple vinegar rinse after shampooing, it leaves hair shiny and soft. Then when the hair is dry, I rub just a a drop of some oil ( usually coconut) between my palms and run them through my hair. My hair is long and straight too.

I use mustard powder. Mix it into a paste with water and apply to my scalp for 20 min, then wash it off. It stimulates hair growth, and cleanses my hair well. Rince off with apple vinigar solution.

I've lived in the U.S. for 13 years, and also traveled quite a bit. And I second that opinion - Americans are generally more positive. People in other countries smile far less and not as polite, again generalizing, of course. I also like how in this country due to immigrant diversity, people are more open-minded and respectful of differences. Probably depends on the location too, but that's been

I use Uncle Harry's too. I don't think fluoride is good in tooth paste eather. It gets not only on the teeth but all over the mouth. The digestion process starts in the mouth, as we know. Some supplements and medicines are sublingual because they are absorbed better that way...

I agree. There are so much lies and misinformation around, that unless you are able to take a carrot and do the tests yourself for the amount of oxalic acid and what not that it may contain, I wouldn't believe anything. On the other hand, Gerson does have well documented healing cases of people whom the conventional doctors sent home to die, some in the last stages of cancer all healed with the

powerlifter - thank you, very interesting. The DPL system I was using only on the face though, and it didn't cause any sweat. Yet, I had the same reaction as from infrared sauna. I've been using regular saunas on more or less consistent basis all my life though with no negative effects ever. So I'll just stick with the old fashioned way

I had 2 experiences with infrared- once sauna ( used regularly for about a week), and another time this used for about 10 days. The instructions on the DPL said that if someone has hypo(or hyper?)thyroidism they shouldn't use infrared therapy. So that infers that it affects the thyroid in some way.. Mine is healthy, I went for a test afterwards, thanks God. As to the effect both the sauna and

I've done that too in the beginning - forget to take the reusable bags out of the car. The solution was - once I'm done shoping, and ready to pay, I would leave my cart by cash register and actually go back to my car and pick those bags up This cured my forgetfullness really quick.

I'd say the old fashioned dry sauna is the best. In my culture sauna is a very important part of life. So I tried everything. Infrared messed up my hormones. Then I researched it was mentioned that it affects your thyroid. My personal experience was enough to never try it again.

I juice half a glass of orange juice and 2 glasses of carrot-beat-apple( 80% carrots, and the rest beat and apple) juice daily. I noticed skin and hair improvement and PMS symptoms completely eliminated. When I become lazy and reduce my juice intake to 1 glass a day, I notice immediately that the PMS symptoms return - mainly, feeling very weak, quickly tired in the gym. Yes, I'm sometiems disc

What does everyone think about that? I know supplements are not encouraged in the raw food world, but still..Any experience? I've read about it's benefits for skin ( tissue regeneration) and hair growth. I actually done it a while back for a couple of months, and got tonsil stones from it ( or something else? maybe it was a coinsidence). Anyway, I've been reading lots of good things about it, a

Thanks lisa_m! Well I just put the eye makeup on while oil pulling, which is the most time consuming for me. I know it's supposed to be on a completely empty stomach, but because of time constraints I have to choose. I do oil pulling mainly for teeth health and whiteness, not as much for detox

I drink a glass of warm water with lemon first thing when I wake up. Then I make a carrot apple beet juice. Then I do oilpulling(oil swishing) for 20 min while puting my make up on, feeding cats etc. Then I mix some MSM powder in water and drink it. Afterwards meditation for about 1 hour, 10 pushups, and an extra large green smoothie. My favorite classes at the gym are also in the evening. I'd l

I have a tendency to get too skinny if I don't watch out. What helps me is eating about 10-12 bananas a day. I do smoothies twice a day with 5-6 bananas in them. Then of course I eat salads, etc. too. But bananas are what helps me maintain the weight. I am 5,6 and weight 132 pounds on average, which is a little heavier than I ideally should be, but I prefer it that way. Adding extra nuts and
