Thanks for the responses. I have been out of town with no internet. Things are a little better I am slowly overcoming these urges but it is not easy.

I write this as I enjoy my breakfast, a mango, lime, cilantro and filtered water smoothie. In this short journey I have undertaken to slowly phase out processed food all together I have hit some mountain sized roadblocks. First to point out that although I did not have the best diet before I still shyed away from fried food, dont drink alcohol, coffee, soda. Very rarely ate fast food (twice a

I would assume that his use of satire was not meant to be offending. Lets not make a mountain out of an ant hill.

As I slowly learn to adjust to eating more raw and whole foods, I know I still lack the knowledge to prolong this for an extended amount of time. What reading material/authors would you suggest to become more familiar with this kind of diet (for a current lack of a better term). Thanks, John

Hello Chelly, Like you I am new to the lifestyle, I have found that a slow transition coupled with a good juicer has helped a lot. Though I am nowhere close to being fully raw, I am using the juicer as a pivot point to cut back on the processed food. Though it is hard during the holidays and I have not had a good two weeks, staying dedicated and focused will help. Good luck! X

I have a Honeywell Hepa that spans about 800 sq ft. It works well, the only gripe I have about it is that it is very noisy. I don't mind the noise, but my wife and kids get annoyed with it. I would love to run it all the time but can't due to the noise. I will look into another one that is quieter, any suggestions?

Geo, Could this also be assmed with all juicers or is this combo specific to how yours works. Since I have gotten the 8006, could this also be a good pratice for it. For my own sake I would guess it would be, but figured you or WY might have a different take on it. WY, Do you not juice anything that is sweet? I would like to get a feel for what you juice, please and thank you, for hear

I'm another juicing novice and I just ordered the Omega 8006. Partly for the same reason you did, not a fan of pulp in the juice and it cuts back on the froth. I don't have it yet but I do have a cheapo vertical juicer. I needed something for leafy greens with a decent yield as my cheapo vert juicer is just plain useless in that dept. One thing I will say, it (the cheap one) does do hard fruits a

I personally gave up all soda and artificial juice almost 2 years ago. The difference is amazing. I remember going out to dinner with people and consuming 5 - 6 glasses of soda before my food even came out, albeit it was very watered down with ice, but never the less I was addicted to it. I have just had water for the last 2 years, now adding fresh juice to the mix. The challenge now is breaking

Well I have made a purchase. Thanks to my thrifty wife I have bought the 8006 from Macys (go figure). Regular $299.99 and the wife had a %25 off cupon she got in the mail which brings it down to $225 with free shipping. Can't wait for it to come in the mail... thanks for all the info, and the youtube videos helped alot.

Just saw your post Geo, that leads to my next reply about someone inquiring about the 8004. I do think because the juicer did leave a lot of pulp and that it was so concentrated that I was not use to such a shock to my system. I have since stayed to hard fruits and veggies and am slowly working my way to straight green juices. That won't happen until I upgrade the juicer to something that can han

How is the 8004 with juicing leafy vegetables. Since I do have a subpar juicer I noticed that when I did try leafy greens all I got was pulp in my juice. For the meantime I have stuck to hard veggies and fruits. Since I am looking to upgrade in the next few weeks the 8004 looks promising. Any other ideas for $300 or under?

Hello all, in being very new to this change in life I want to do it right. I am not totally raw just yet, but I am looking at making a slow transition. I have a juicer and have a juice for breakfast but tend to fall off as the day goes on. What is a good lunch time meal to eat that will help with the break from processed foods. Also any in between meal ideas would be greatly appreciated. John

Thanks for the info. With regard to that green juice I made, I did notice that every time I partook it I felt somewhat sickly, mainly in the stomach area. When a body ingests pure whole foods like this, at such a concentrated, basically for the first time ever, is their a mild detox effect one may feel?

Ladies and Gents, My name is John and I have begun on this road to a raw food diet. I have researched Juicing for a while now and have only begun with it this week. This is my 4th day. I have a cheapo Juicer but for now it works. I do have a few ameatur questions. 1) How do you formulate new eating habits around juicing? How do you make up in hard foods that you dont get from juicing? 2)
