That is awesome that you have met someone who is not judging your food choices. My job is where I find that people seem to judge me the most. But our association is one of necessity. I gotta work to pay the bills. I started a raw food yahoo group and organized a once-a-month Raw Potluck to bring like minds together for support and inspiration. Once you've met a few open minds in your area you'll

I would try to stay away from the fruits and try something like celery juice or maybe some coconut water. As has already been stated, hunger is often due to dehydration.

Personally, I won't buy figs treated with those or any other chemicals.

I consumed 8 oz. Bourbon mixed with 16 oz. Coke, and finally capped it off with a Pale Ale. I have also heard that the clear liquors such, as Vodka, are better than the dark ones (Bourbon, Rum). I would think that Gin would also be safer. But Juliano probably knows best. Cheap Vodka makes a great sterilizing solution. Here's a good article on Alcohol and Weight gain: Some of the grea

The two that I use the most are "Hooked on Raw," by Rhio and "Sunfood Cuisine," by Frederic Patenaude. I'd like to get "Green for Life," Victoria Boutenko and "Raw in Ten" Does anyone have either of these? How are they? I'm getting the books on Amazon. I'd like to get one more Book, so I can get free shipping. Anyone have any suggestions of recent re

It sounds like you have already made some great strides toward a healthy diet. It might help you to know that there some conventional fruits that are generally safe. Bananas and Avocados are safe. Many of the citrus fruits and Melons are safe to varying degrees. You can save some money on the raw cashews also--not worth it. I would definitely buy organic Greens, Apples, raisins, and Strawberries.

This is why I love this site. You all have a great attitude. I would have probably been preached to if I had posted this on that other site. I'm well aware of the negatives of alcohol. I've also experienced the high of real health. I'll take health anyday over a transitory sensory experience. Tim

I've decided to quit buying Durians. I can not seem to ration myself with small quantities spread out over a few days. I start off okay, but often end up eating too much. I also have a difficult time rationing myself with Almond Butter. When I have it I just want to put it on apples or celery with raisins. Again, I end up eating way more than a little. What foods have you stopped buying?

You're all an inspiration to me. I'm 48 and, due to a lot of intense psychological drama in my workplace, have gotten way off track. Once you know what it feels like to be truly healthy you become very aware of when you're on the wrong track.
