Both! I eat lots of fruit earlier in the day, and when I feel like it, I switch to vaggies.....usually around luch time and I try to stick with them through dinner. I feel most balanced this way, and feel that I am getting a full spectrum of nutrients through the large variety of fruits AND veggies. Honestly though, I love summer fruits....I live on the central California coast, so I am blesse

Hi there! Well, I can only speak from my personal experince, but I have gone 99% raw (some salad dressings I eat arent raw, and I have the occasional piece of Ezekial sprouted bread), and I have lost 9 lbs. in 11 days. I counted calories to make sure that I was getting enough, and I was between 1700 and 2000 per day. I feel like I am eating constantly, which is a good thing for me, because I d

Hi everyone!! Sorry to keep posting questions, but this is my only source of information and I really need it right now! I am wondering if I am eating enough and if I need to supplement with anything like B12, protein, green powders, or anything else. A typical day for me looks like this: Breakfast: a huge bowl of berries, a banana, and some dates Snack: half a canteluope Next snack: nu

I did a series of 3, one per day, a while ago and felt great. I went back later and had just one session, and felt similar to the way you described. Having just the one seemed to make me feel bloated and gassy, whereas the series really flushed things out and seemed to make a huge difference in the way I looked and felt. i dont know, jury is out on this one. All of our bodies are different, so

Oh my gosh!! Someone who has my exact symptoms!! Yes, I completely feel the way you described on occasion...like I am on the verge of passing out. I think there are a few things to look into. One, I think that sometimes, our body is purging itself of all of the toxins that we put in it for so many years, and that can make us feel a little funny. Second, when first starting out, be gentle to yo

I lost about 7 lbs in the first week....and it seems that I tend to lose about a 1/2 lb every day or every other day since then. I exercise regularly, although for enjoyment now, rather than necessity to keep the lbs off. I noticed the scale first, then the jeans. I feel like all I do is eat, eat, eat, but dont gain weight. I even eat dessert (raw almond butter, maple syrup, raw almonds, froz

I bought a book by Natalia Rose called The Raw food and Detox Diet. It talkes about categorizing foods and not crossing categories due to the fact that food will get backed up in your system, ferment, and couse some less than desirable results. This book offers a great way to ease into the program, and offers recipes, transition foods and tips on how to stay with it. . I dont know how everyone e

Hang in there!! I am fairly new as well, and I can tell you from experience that the urge to taste the butters, sauces and spreads of the past will soon be a distant memory! For example, the other day, I cracked open a canteloupe (I hadnt had one in a while), and I felt like I was "cheating" on a diet. It was so sweet and juicy and wonderful that I couldnt believe it! Better than ANY

As I read the forum discussions, I find that many of us switched to raw food, almost out of desperation, due to symptoms of, or similar to, IBS. I am definately one of those...have suffered for 27 years, and have finally found the "cure". My stomach is at ease for the first time in I dont know how long. I have to watch some of the combinations and amounts of nuts and dried fruits. F

I am fairly new to the raw food lifestyle and sometimes feel like I am completely alone, and looked at as if I am crazy (not that I really care). How wonderful to have aplace to go with questions and motivation to help us all through this wonderful journey!!! Jojiarun

I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to avoid the light headed feeling I get. Its not a lack of energy that I feel, but more of a dizziness, lack of protein that I feel. I am on my second attempt to go raw, and always after the first week, I get light headed, panic, and go back to eating fleshy proteins. Is this normal?
