John, You will see a diversely beautiful land that includes mountainous, high desert, low lying semi flat sand desert, more mountains and hills, then the unique climate of southern Calif. coastal desert. It's all incredible, not boring, but honestly, some of your path will not be spectacular either. Most of your way will be desert. The best time of year in the desert (flower blooming) is m

Ouch, sorry coco! Elevation and ice is the only thing that helps... I've broken mine more times then I can count...Try to keep it elevated and on ice as much as you can. (Yeah I know, that's not easy with 2 little one around, but it really helps) When it gets less sensitive, try taping it to the next toe. That kinda works like a splint.

Thanks Pistachio and Lois, I had a very fun career, and good career path/plan, and I made decent money. This injury means I can no longer work in a production shop. What I do best is designing and make things. Now I am limited to the design portion of my career, and in order to build a client base, or gain employment as a designer, I'll need some more formal designing training, and unfortunate

Thanks for the insight Sundancer, that's quite a story! I got my AA about 25 years ago, and would be gong back to get a BA this time. I think it will take about 5 years part time. I've got a mountain of debt tied to my home, and know that this means more loans, but I need to replace lost income now that a portion of my earning power was lost due to my injury. Thanks for sharing. It's encouraging

Has anyone here gone back to college to get another degree after years or decades? Have you graduated, or are you still going? How did it work out? Like you thought it would? Did you have major financial responsibilities, like a mortgage? Extended family to help? How did you make living while attending? If you had to take out loans, are you able to pay them with the increased pay f

Since this is an invalid assumption, especially when viewed from a Buddhist perspective, perhaps you would be more comfortable looking for information on edible plants, roots, seeds, and flowers that grow in the area you live? I use to consume some Braggs, but soy seems to be one of my many "symptom trigger foods", so I avoid it in all forms. I'm not sure what you mean by "will my body treat it as salt?" but since sodium is one of the two components of salt, I guess the answer is yes. Sodium, and chloride are two of the minerals necessary for our body to maintain an electrolytic balance. Most peo

Ants don't like certain herbs and spices. I'm not sure which ones, but they wont cross a line of cinnamon. Also. The natural detergent booster called Borax works. It's a powder like backing soda, you pour a line around the baseboards and door thresholds. Good luck! Hope that helps!

Report immediately to the Ministry of Guilt and Punishment, department of Self Discipline and Flagellation. The Ministry guidelines suggest 50 lashes with a spiralized zucchini noodle followed by 3 salads, and a smoothie! Ok, so that might not work, Rawtastic made a great suggestion, for a transition period try eating a high calorie raw meal for lunch. A seed or nut pate with a salad might wo

Sorry guys, but I just can’t resist. A perfectly ripe looking banana, dressed in Bishop’s robes, walking with extreme dignity and a serious look on his face, enters the room and approaches a dais. With great care he pulls out a scroll, clears his throat, and reads in a clear loud voice.… By the Power of the order of the Ministry of the Association for the Administration of the Reli

This is funny..."purist" ...purist sounds like advocating "Puritanism" lol If we're going to elevate our way of eating to a religion, I suggest we make watermelon the pope, and bananas the bishops! And now "lettuce pray"! It also reminds me of reading the Harry Potter books. "Purebloods" is what they called themselves. You know...The "fruiteaters&

I agree that the seeds themselves are better then the oils. A lot of oils, including flax are extremely unstable. They spoil in practically no time. Coconut oil is supposed to be very stable though. For nuts and seeds I think whole are best, if your blender will process them. Fresh ground would be a close second (coffee grinder works great). Also the fiber may help with any colon cleansing needed

Here are a couple of interesting articles on sodium and chloride. Chloride: Sodium: Seems like most SAD diets cause a extreme excessive intake. From everything I've been reading, we can get enough of both of these from fruits & veggies. I can only find one disease that causes a deficiency and that would be Cystic Fibrosis. Extreme sweating may cause the need to replenish, whic

This is interesting - but what if someone uses salt out of necessity? Someone with cystic fibrosis would need to keep their chloride level stable. Does anyone know what raw foods be abundant sources of chloride? Maybe sea greens? I'm not sure it's possible, but it would be nice to know...

I try to brighten peoples days with my photos, art, and silly games. It doesn't matter really, I just like to spread smiles and make a day better. Hey Ver, I hope all is well! Haven't posted cuz I've been swimming the seven seas with some of my dolphin friends! Actually I haven't done laps in almost 2 years, but now my swimming days may be over. Two months ago, I tore up my shoulder and bicep (work injury). At this point, the way the workers comp. system is, I doubt I'll ever be able to swim again. (left hand only for typing & mouse
