Thanks coco - I checked out that book & it is a good thing it is free, because there is nothing of value (really) in there pertaining to couponing or saving money in a big way. Some small tips or hints on when to by produse & a suggestion on calling Sara Lee and another company for them to send you coupons. --- "Buying fruits on sale & freezing them for later..." ok

They are taught from a very early age that entitlements are a good thing. It is ingrained in their thought processes as part of a larger social liberal experiment. coco Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's awful, isn't it? Just curious if any members on here do (extreme) couponing? It seems that all of the foods/supplies that we use are not part of any or many coupon deals. Most of the coupons that I am aware of are for the major pre-packaged brands, etc.. I suppose there are some deals to be had with certain cleaning supplies or things like that, but overall I don't see many good coupon deals. Any thoughts?

Never thought about using a Verseo Aqua-Toner system. For back pain relief, I always thought an inversion table would be a good choice.

Not sure really. These things seem to creep up on you when you aren't looking. How about you? When did you notice?

Me too. Years ago I was a lot "nicer" person than I am now. What changed things? I am a product of my environment... "I don't hate you, Cardassian, I hate what I became because of you" - Miles O'Brian

Are you raw fooders concerned about the foods you eat possibly being contaminated? You rarely hear of anything like this happening, but maybe it does and we are all healthy enough to fight it off as a minor sickness. I would think that this would be more common among foragers as many/most of them do not wash anything that they forage. They simply pick & eat.

I guess I just don't get this whole concept. Where is the joy in living as a pauper? I came from very poor parents & I am now successful, wealthy & happy. Would I go back to living that way? Not on your life.

Keep it all!!! I love stuff - the more the better! This notion of living with nothing/simple life is too boring for my tastes.

Yeah, I know about the alcohol content going up, but I wasn't sure about the bad bacteria - good or bad to consume. I never experienced any negative reactions that I am aware of.

Synergy & some of those are my favorites. But sometimes I don't get to all of them before they expire & when past the expire date they have a real strong beer/vinegar/other taste. Does anyone know if they are considered safe to drink at that point? Other than the off taste...

Vitamin D3? No vegan sources available...I recently talked to a friend who has a Vitamin D level of "9", & it is normally supposed to be around 65. The Dr. told him that D3 is the only one he is to take. He is suffering from fatty liver disease & psoriasis. Oh, did I mention, he is a raw vegan...what to do in this situation?

coco, Have you ever attempted a particular pickle recipe, such as bread & butter pickles? We actually enjoy those more than the dill pickles. The recipe that we followed gave us - good smelling pickles with little taste and a squishy texture, lol. It had several ingredients...I can't remember what they were now.

I found this in regards to Tamukha's post... it would seem that some companies do hi- heat their product. "The other two methods of preservation do not require a fermentation step. One method is by direct pasteurization. In this method, the cucumbers are bottled and then exposed to very high temperatures for a set amount of time. This has the effect of killing all of the natural bacte

It would be interesting to hear what some of the long term juicer have to say on this subject - Jay Kordich for example. I am pretty sure he is 100% raw & I do know he juices a lot of greens. He may make up for the iodine intake with seaweeds though. Do you eat your seaweeds raw or do you cook them?
