Thanks WY for the input on freezing. That pretty much answers it for me...better than nothing but not much. Wow! That refractometer is one cool looking device. It looks like you should be able to play a tune on it. I've never heard of such a thing before. Hmmm.

It's an Omega 8004. There was a ton of refuse and in comparison, just a little juice but one of my plants bolted in the heat so I decided to turn it into juice. The flavor was awesome. Let me ask you a question, WY. I'm thinking of freezing green juices so I have them when winter comes. Is that advisable?

You know raw_curious, it's rubbing off on my wife! I make the food and put it in the fridge. I asked her the other day how much raw she's eating. She says about 50%. Rawk on! Tonight, she cut a young zucchini in half and ate it with some salt while I ran some brocolli and cabbage and cauliflower and carrots through my food processor for quick and easy access. (Then I juiced some parsley a

Too ethereal for me but wherever it is, I think I like it. If we see what we want to see - I see heaven. I love this place.

So I ran the parsley through the Omega juicer and wow! If the FDA finds out how good this is, it'll be illegal. Very tasty, a bit of a bite and I suspect addicting. Kind of a gloppy consistency. Way good. I wonder what the alkaloid is.

Trees fight! Roust a bowsters! Well so you say - they bark too but what, I ask is at the root of their thinking? you think they have their heads in the air? It leaves much to the imagination. Have they branched off into a splinter group? Or maybe they're A chip off the old block. And by the way la Veronique the things you say I always read and I am never disappointed. You're

Wow! I am impressed RAWLION! You're are laying the groundwork in your children for healthy lives. I have made an interesting observation that often, children under the age of six PREFER raw food. I remember one five-year old boy who attached to me because I had all this raw food to eat. He once said to me with all the excitement that only a child can muster, "I love this stuff!" Conside

Well, I have been eating it but I am going to juice it because, at the moment, I have so much of it growing.

SkyFeather, I had bad sugar cravings but I found eating dates answered that well for me. It's no longer an issue but it used to be. As for calcium, I eat lots of greens. I also have an Omega 8005 juicer that I use to juice greens for a concentrated shot of green juice. (The 8005 is the 8004 model in stainless steel.) They are available on this website and as far as I can tell, they are chea

Thanks chat. I didn't realize "success stories" is the place to be. I'm new to this discussion board after being away for several years and there are some new things. I don't see a way to move it there now. So be it. Tamukha, there ARE some ambassadors out there. Interestingly enough, doctors tend to look at me with skepticism but nurses drink it up. They often feel there is somethin

After being 100% raw for a year or so, I picked up a "bug" and was running a fever of 103.6 F. but I really felt quite alright, I still felt energetic, no real loss of energy - just a little chilled. I got a phone call from work asking if I could come to work a night shift; they couldn't find anyone to fill the shift. (I'm an RN). I told them I actually was sick, that I had a fever of 1

I have two Vita-Mix blenders, both bought used. One I found advertised for $50 on a local website and the other was $5 at a thrift store. Both have stainless steel containers and though they are older Models 3600 and 4500, they are still working well and probably will for a long time to come. They are always for sale on eBay though they tend to sell for about $150.

You are likely quite right, chat; "life or death" may be too strong. Perhaps health or disease might be closer to reality though there is a certain correlation between "life and death" and "health and disease". I agree that mental state is a large component in one's healthiness. We have all met people who don't necessarily eat according to best standards but live hap

To me, eating raw or cooked is to choose life or death. I've often thought that if I ever had it to do again, I wouldn't marry someone who is not committed to a raw diet. You are right; there is a HUGE shift in consciousness. But my wife is essentially a vegetarian and only gives into the the influences of her family whom she lives to far away from to make a difference. People look at me side

What a great testimonial and thanks for sharing. Eating raw takes us to new heights and really, though we may not be battling the "traditional" eating disorders, this way of eating leaves me to think that those who are consumed by the SAD regime, actually have an eating disorder of a sort.

I'm going to steal a page from your book and take on the food prep duties, a job she'll gladly surrender. Hey, I love the look of your favourite vegan. It looks like a good life! Speaking of attractive, some years ago I was visiting a friend and since I was on the run, I was packing my food with me. Of course it was all raw, a quality my friends sometimes think of as just plain crazy. Anyw

Volcomchick8797, I share your frustration. You can only wonder if there is anything that might make the difference. SAD food is an addiction in my estimation, and no less compelling, if not more so, than any other addictive substance! My wife wants to lose weight and I think in the last four months, she may have dropped a pound. It frustrates her. She's a vegetarian, at least when she is with

I've always been impressed with Richard Blackman even way back in the days before bootcamp. I'm not surprised that he continues to evolve from Richard to Jericho to Genesis, from fruitarian to breatharian. I don't grasp breatharian. It's beyond my scope of knowledge but I am always open to the possibilities. How's that work? He doesn't look like he's enfeebled. What a transcedence!

Yep! I'd say 30/70 is better than average and 7/53/47 is about the norm. My dad has been the one person in my family who has actually taken to raw and is totally supportive., But way back in the day,in 1997, when I first got hooked on raw I'd tell him all about the benefits I was discovering. You know, no fatigue, increased energy, work tirelessly, pump weights for 2-3 hours and still want

I'm curious. Does your family eat raw too? When my wife met me, she knew I was totally into rawfoodism. But, I began to accomodate her over the three years we dated before we married and eventually, I joined her in her SAD cuisine. But, as Timothy Leary said, once you've discovered a truth, you can never deny it again. And so, after six months of marriage, I decided I need to be who I am an

Hello RawPlease. I have gone onto a raw regime four different times since 1997 and each time, except the first time (I went raw after a five day fast), I first experience constipation for four days or more. Since that's not the norm for me, it seems very unusual but I can only surmise that the added roughage is cleaning out the garbage I've been feeding myself. As Dick Gregory once said, they

Raw food is detoxifying and when you detox, you may feel lightheaded. I have fallen off track on several occasions and had to get back to raw all over again. I always go through an initial stage that may last from a few days to a few weeks when I just feel less energetic. Now though, I know what comes next and I am willing to go through the discomfort to get to the "other side" where th
