Spend a few minutes online, you can find it several places with different prices. Sorry I can't remember where I got mine... but I found it with google. Good luck... you'll love it! KathyT

Marika, My oldest son is an alcoholic. The rest of us a teetotalers and have been his entire life. I think we eat to self medicate ourselves... lots of obesity among all these teetotalers. But my son uses chemicals for everything... need to relax, have a cigarette, alcohol to make you feel mellow, drugs to make you feel good... my son chooses the chemical route for dealing with everything.

Wow, I had no idea hair could be pushed out by new growth! That should be easy to test... I can check for the new growth! If that is happening it should show up soon. In the meantime, I went back on my B12 shots today, and also am going to log my diet so I can check and see if anything is missing. I use a great variety of produce and nuts... my naturopath said eat as many types as you c

Do you like veggies? Every other day or so we just have a huge vegetable tray... sliced peppers, tomatos, avacado, carrots, celery, brocolli, cauliflower... I make a dip by pureeing a cumcumber with seasonings... it is a great ranch dip, and it's all vegetables again... so we sit with this HUGE platter of veggies (often 2 platters cuz we're piggy), we each get a bowl of the ranch dip, and just c

Boyd, Acne often comes from a sluggish colon. Your body is designed to get rid of toxins in 4 ways... through your bowels, urine, sweat, and breathe. The colon is vital to good health. When you are not eliminating at least twice a day, and preferably 3 times a day, then the toxins in that fecal matter are reabsorbed through the colon wall, and those toxins will recirculate through your body

Wow, David... there is no way I am going backward! I regard eating as a raw vegan to be the absolute healthiest way of eating! My energy has increased, my fibromyalgia symptoms are down, my insulin dosage is down, and I feel more happy and harmonious. I don't want to trade that in, even for a full head of hair! LOL. I just figure I can have both! After I made that post last night, I

37. SOS!
I have noticed something for a few weeks... thought it was just me, a normal aging thing... but my husband and I talked about it tonight and he's having the same problem, so I suspect it's related to the diet. Our hair is falling out at a much higher rate that ever before. small clumps even... I can run my fingers through my hair and there will be a dozen strands of hair come out. Combing my

Yeast is a parasite. Use a parasite cleanse. grapefruit seed extract and tea tree oil are both ingredients in many parasite cleanses. Also Black Walnut, licorice root, cloves... you should be able to find one at a decent health food store. KathyT

i gram fat = 9 calories 1 gram protein = 4 calories. 1 gram carbohydrate = 4 calories. If you are planning on 2000 calorie diet, eat 1600 calories carb, 200 calories protein, and 200 calories fat. Or in other words, 400 grams of carb, 50 grams of protein, and 22 grams of fat. Probably most raw vegans do not eat 2000 calories per day, though! That's quite a few calories! KathyT

Fat slows down the metabolism... experienced diabetics know about how you have to time your insulin differently if you're eating much fat, because it will slow everything down, so the blood sugar curve lasts much longer. Slang term... The pizza factor.... eating pizza slows the metabolism down so much that your blood sugar will be much higher than usual for a longer period of time. This is bec

I have found the way to eat much cheaper is if you can find an oriental grocery store. Most of them have phenominal produce departments. Not always organic, but according to my Naturopath, not all produce needs to be organic. He gave me a list of what should be organic and what not. So I follow that. Good luck at cutting down the costs. I have also found it costs less if we shop more often

Trady, All I can tell you is based on my own experience. As a type 1 diabetic, I have used insulin for 24 years. Most of that time has been miserable, because I am allergic to the preservative in insulin. Only one insulin on the earth doesn't contain that preservative... the long acting insulin Levemir, and I use it. But to cover meals I use a quick acting insulin which makes me itch so

Thanks for your responses. I appreciate the words of counsel. And the encouragement! la_veronique, my children are all adults, mostly off living their own lives. One daughter does live with me... in fact, she moved here to just help me with the vegan diet. At first, I was just going to go vegan because of the damage to my kidneys... animal proteins cause creatnine to stack up in your blood

I wrote this for a group of friends from my church. I want to share it here. The first time I read at this site, I heard someone say that their raw journey was spiritual. I agree. Anyway, this is my story, for what it's worth: ******* I had a late night last night, and was planning on sleeping in today, getting up just in time to make 11 o'clock church. Unfortunately, my mind won't let me d
