Ooh! I wonder if feeling bloated is a sign that my liver is going through some sort of detox right now? ambaryarena, there has been some talk recently in another thread about collecting nettles and eating them fresh. Do you have them growing near where you live? Lots of love to you, Wendi XOXOXO

*HUGS* to you, veggiefreak. You are very welcome. ------------ Here's my next update: April 11, 2008 I woke around 6am. I guess on mono meals I only require about eight hours of sleep. Normally I need closer to nine to feel good the next day. I’ve always required a lot of sleep, even as a child. I’m wondering what food I’ll switch to at the end of the day. I had apples as one of my

Thanks so much, Bryan! In the 80/10/10 book I noticed a lot of recipes go by the weight of the produce. I have an antique scale that may not be very accurate, but I can probably use it for the recipes. I love that the book has a lot of color photos of the foods. That really does make a recipe book more appealing to me. I think that's one of the reasons I loved Rawvolution when I was first going r

It makes sense, maui_butterfly--you don't sound like a flake. ;-) I follow my intuition on a lot of things in life, and right now it's telling me to get moving. Since my husband is opposed to getting into an RV and just traveling until we find our new home, we aren't able to just see what happens. If we aren't making any motion toward moving, we may just sit here for a very long time. I need the

Welcome back, to both the forum and the raw lifestyle. ;-) From what I've read, it's important to make sure you are getting enough calories if you are thin and losing weight on raw. It's tough to get enough calories if you don't consume a lot of fruit or nuts. Fruits would be the healthier option, of course! Lots of love to you, Wendi XOXOXO

If you desire them and the only way you can eat them at this point is lightly steamed, then maybe it's good that you eat them that way. ;-) It's not like you are battering them and then sticking them into the deep fryer before consuming them. ;-) The cleaner your digestive system is, the easier it is to digest things like broccoli (that's been my experience, anyway). When my stomach is comple

When I was transitioning and then the beginning of 100% raw, if I was craving something I would ask myself: What is it about this food that I'm craving? Is it the saltiness, the oil/fat, the specific herbs/spices, the sweetness? As soon as I narrowed it down, I then knew it wasn't that exact food that I wanted--it was something about the taste of it, or the feeling from it. Then, I'd create somet

Here's an update on the rest of my day. It was much better than yesterday! ------ 4:30pm It’s early, still, but I want to eat and it’s not celery I want. So, I’m ending my cucumber/celery part of the day and eating bananas!!! Oh, I’m looking forward to 24 hours with bananas! 6:00pm I was surprised that I was full after only four bananas, earlier. I can usually eat seven in one

Co-ops are more plentiful now, than they were a few years ago. I'm happy for that! maui_butterfly, I see what you are saying, but I feel that I do have a choice. I want to live a certain way and it's not possible where I am here so that means I'm moving on to a new place. Things are shifing and moving within and around me and I know it's time to move. ;-) Lots of love to you, Wendi XO

Thanks so much, Tanawana, roadrunner, and veggie freak! I made it through the night... ;-) ------------------ April 10, 2008 Today is a bright, sunny day. It’s amazing what a little sleep can do for a person! It was a tough day/evening yesterday. I’ve moved beyond that, however, and here I am continuing with my goal of 9 days mono eating for Navratri. 3:00am I woke with extrem

Thanks, VEggiefreak. Here is my latest update. I have a headache and I'm headed to bed early. :-( ----------------- 1:00pm I finished the rest of the blended pineapple from this morning. I’m very full right now. I’m also quite tired. 3:00pm I have a slight headache and I feel kind of sad/depressed. My eyes are dry and my tongue is slightly coated. Also, my stomach is burning a b

Ooh, maui_butterfly! I was just telling my husband that I came across some information that there's an area near Santa Rosa that supposedly has the cleanest air and water of all California. I mentioned Santa Rosa, because that's the closest large city in which he can try finding a job. Was the rural area where your brother lived expensive? We really want to find a place that is rural, but wit

I was wondering the same thing, Tanawana. I'm cutting back on fats and increasing fruits this year (my goal for the year), and I'm wondering if the results will cause me to rethink my goal, or not. Part of me wonders if the "standards" for what we are "supposed" to show if we are truly healthy are even remotely accurate, though. What if the results show deficiencies, yet t

Thanks, anuiyer7. I just looked up San Ramon and Danville. They both look very nice, but we are wanting something a bit more rural. We want to feel like we are living in the country, but are able to drive about an hour (or less) to get to a big enough city to meet our needs. I hope you'll be able to return to CA as soon as you decide that's what you definitely want to do. If it wasn't for such

We decided to move to a sunnier location and settled on Colorado. However, after this past winter we are tired of the cold and can't imagine living in Colorado anymore, even though it has a lot of sunshine. We've now set our minds on Northern California. The problem is, it's such a huge area it's hard to do enough research to figure out which areas are best to consider. Any help would be very

next update... 8:15pm Okay, I have cravings. They aren’t there until I see or smell foods, though. I was just going through some raw blogs that I like to read and someone posted a mouth-watering picture of a quiche and I instantly wanted to eat it. I actually felt a little sad, or something, that I couldn’t eat salty, oily, savory foods. Then my inner voice spoke the deepest wisdom to me,

Wow, Phantom! That was incredible. I'm so glad you were able to release those stored emotions and that you shared it with us. I'm in the same boat as veggiefreak. I know I still have a lot of emotional detox to get through. I've found the emotional detoxing to be far greather than the physical detoxing, so far. Much love and peace to you! Thanks for sharing with all of us! Lots of love,

Tomatoes (organic) are $2.89 a pound at our co-op. We are moving to a sunnier location before the end of the year (that's the plan, anyway). We settled on Colorado, but have since changed our destination to Northern California. Does anyone know if the costs of organics in Norther California are reasonable, or not? Lots of love, Wendi XOXO

I can see how the wheat grass juice would be healing to the mouth. However, won't it cause severe staining of the teeth over time, even with brushing a lot? Lots of love, Wendi XOXOXO

I agree that it's good to get professional help if you have an eating disorder. Consuming raw foods may give you physical health, but there is an underlying emotional/mental struggle that needs to be addressed for overall health in your being. Lots of love to you, Wendi XOXO

When I first learned about raw foods, the enzyme theory was the most talked about reason to consume raw foods for better health. Then, later, I found out that there was an opposing view that food enzymes weren't really what was causing the increase in health for those eating raw foods. Which theory is right? There are so many theories/debates about raw food: enzymes, quantity of fruits and/or

angie1, I have the same thing happening at times! I haven't nursed in about 11 years, but I feel that same swirling, almost letdown, feeling. The first few times I checked my breasts to see if they were getting heavy with milk, but they weren't. I was just experiencing that feeling. Lots of love to you, Wendi XOXO
