Yes, Greenstar is definitely more efficient than the VRT for the items I use. 8006 a very close second, perhaps almost tied. I no longer have a Greenstar or an 8006 at the moment actually. I may not even get another one, but that is another story. Truthfully, the greenstar seemed to have the same deal with spinach alone, but I did not test it extensively enough. It worked fantastic for rom

I mostly consume my produce whole, but still do SOME green juices some of the time while building up to eat higher quantities healing digestion. The greens I use are romaine/spinach (usually one or the other). I also use celery (and as you will see, have to in this juicer). The Omega VRT has some issues with juicing JUST romaine or spinach, or romaine and spinach in larger amounts without 1-

Apparently I can't edit these posts anymore. I forgot to add "or best offer" up top =) It does celery well too. Well being as there are 6 posts on it here my description is not necessary.

Howdy everyone, I bought this juicer less than 2 months ago and am now selling it. I will let it go for 320 or so. Still has the 10 year warranty and everything is just fiiine... Reasoning? I don't juice much anymore, no carrots, no kale, no chard....You can see from JuicerJohns videos this thing in action. I find it works very well for those items. If anyone wants it please contac

fruit juice releases sugars rapidly into the bloodstream, (insulin spike) not buffered by fiber, also the liver sees all the fructose as toxic so it is like alcohol without the buzz, some research I read says... I am still looking into this. same with sweet veggies,,,it all depends though, we can look at the glycemic index, load is more important... that what point does the body deal with it

that looks VERY of similar to the knife that I use. down to the markings on the bottom and all. I have juiced up to 4 pounds or maybe five or six, depending on if it's just me or not. probably better to drink smaller amounts more slowly, I have had some huge glasses. we have a centrifugal here but I just use the Omega. I have cut 6 pounds in 10 minutes or less. I cut it into vertical sli

there is a lot of water hype. there's a lot of hype in general nowadays. A lot of metaphysical, science, and pseudoscience combines together with marketing in this aspect. Depending on what paradigm, or group of paradigms I approach this from I could answer you differently. I go with distilled at the moment, and when I remember, I infuse it with my own vibration/intention/etc.. Much

perhaps you can enlighten me on your carrot cutting procedure. I use a wide, heavy knife, halfway between a cleaver and your standard blade. I slam it down halfway between the carrot, then it sticks and I slam it against the board. I have to wear hearing protection due to my acoustical injury that I'm healing, don't get me started on my health. I whear shooting muffs to cut my carrots.

I would suggest a consult with Dr. Doug Graham, there is also a supervised fast he offers once a year. As a runner up there is the Puerto Rico Anne Wiggmore institute. In the short run a high fat or high fruit approach works, but in the long run he is better off with the high fruit. Cousens even says 80 10 10 is the optimal ratio in his cure diabetes in 30 days videos. They also wean the peop

Well, if someone buys my brand new omega 8006 I'm still considering buying this one as my main purpose is juicing. The squeak doesn't bother me. I would like to grow some wheatgrass.

PLainlydressed, the simpler the better, you are better off not mixing the tomatoes in with sweet fruits. Tomatoes are an acid fruit. Check these out As for teeth vs blender.... blender pulverizes and breaks down more, but introduces more oxygen, friction, and changes the natural satiation limit of food. It is best to swish around the mouth to still stimulate digestion/enzymes. Th

What does the squeak mean? my omega 8006 squeaks on wheatgrass often to. also is the Hurom slow juicer the same? why does it look cheap? other juicers are plastic. they claim it's made by same people who make the others

acid and sweet DO NOT MIX. it is VERY IMPORTANT. they are completely opposing enzymatic and metabolic cascades. i.e if you make a banana orange smoothie your absorption is getting close to 0%. it actually causes fermentation and auto-toxicity. so this most likely includes carrot/tomatoe juice. there are great food combining charts out there. where do your signifigant calories come from WY

the instructions on my omega 8006 say to use the sieve after the juicing process. not too hard to buy/build something to work. There didn't seem to be much pulp yesterday in the juice my friend made. Yes, I figured that the main purpose long term I forsee, is green juices from greens I forage/grow/buy. I may be comfortable with my level of whole-green intake in the future, but at the moment

What do you make of it WY, the omega looks identical, I heard you say, cheap plastic made in Korea eh, it's got a huge chute, and looked pretty nice in action. I'd have to do a comparison, but hey it's not hard for me to make green juice with the 8006, but if it was just as efficient I'd CONSIDER a trade, and make sorbets in the blender, which may be hard on the blade?

My friend last night had a Hurom slow juicer, looks the same here. It had a huge chute, the same size as many centrigufals! and the wipers look cool. His watermelon he juiced (I just eat mine usually) came out with wet pulp whereas my omega 8006 it was quite dry, however he was putting HUGE chunks down the chute. I think he told me he got his for 300 which is cheaper, still 50 more then

Thought i would add some links here about the whole issue. It clearly seems like we need some fibere with high fructose. Perhaps look at the most dense source nature "allows" as a human food as-is, and if one thrives on that fruit. and THEN you can try to re-create it through some juice/veg combo if it combines well.

What about carrot juice (maybe with greens too) blended with whole apples? or carrot juice, whole greens, and whole apples? What have you tried WY? I am interested because that may deal with the supposed fiber effects I posted in another thread, I was given a few links to studies on the sugar without fibre issue, I enjoyed much of the last month juicing several lbs of organic carrots a day g

The harder auger should be better for Wheatgrass, so I hear, and also be less subject to wearing away, if this is indeed a risk at all in the softer auger. One individual expressed concern about the auger looking "worn", and if that plastic went in the juice, but was not positive.

I spent quite some time yesterday, I tried the centrifugal, and it seemed to get a good amount of the romaine juiced, but some wasn't chopped finely, and there were larger pieces. I put it in the vitamix, and it wouldn't blend without adding water. I wonder if it is bad for the blender when it is spinning but not "engaging". This happens when blending frozen items too, I have to use

I must admit, I ran out of fruit and gave it a try, it felt good to me. However that is short term, and I am not going to be checking my levels of anything. Waiting for my omega 8006, I pre-ordered one. I will continue green and non-sweet juices, and try WG, as I have only had a single shot of it, but it tasted great, not enough to truly gauge. OG carrots are full of so much nutritional goodn

Good going folks. I tried some carrot juicing, a deviation from my usual, drank over enough time, it felt fine. Only in the interest of truth and health, do I share the following, especially here in this thread. Glycemic index is one thing, but glycemic load is a more important factor. There are guar gums and pectins in for bananas for instance, so they have a relatively low glycemic lo

Indeed, I should be washing organic ones even I suppose. I seem to recall you use baby carrots WY, are these nutritionally the same as the larger? I don't trust many places to prepare my juices/smoothies, you must ask, one place gave me a yoghurt and sugar and flavor laced smoothie, it tasted quite artificial. Usually not as sanitary, but also, the energy that goes into it, the quality o

Thanks for the responses, WY, coco, and wild-aloe, they are much appreciated. I too have mysterious health issues, well, semi-mysterious, and no clear answers, but I have some labels, hypotheses, and theories. 80-10-10 with green juices seems to be doing the best, and perhaps carrot if it was mixed with enough fiber to not absorb too fast. There is the science behind the absorption of su

I am wondering if anyone has used this method, for let's say, romaine, celery, or any other item. How efficient is it compared to an omega or greenstar? Do you need to add fluid for the juicing effect, if the blender works dry?? (I hear even the vitamix wet container will do fine dry). How easy, time consuming, etc would it be? Would be good to know.... Blend super fine, put in bag

I don't have the money to risk not being able to re-sell one of the blenders... I have used a vitamix before but not extensively and not lately making what I'd make now, I can find one to try in town at someones house perhaps, not sure on the blendtec though.

Looking for a new blender... I have the ability to get a used Blendtec, a EZ Blender, from a shut down shop, with about 380 cycles on it, they said "warranty until october" so I am guessing they bought it last October, for $250. Or go for the refurbished vitamix with free shipping coupon for $380. From what I've read I would prefer the blendtec overal lI think, but for $130 I w
