Here's a good recipe for cheese and figs and crackers -- Bananas, grapes and blueberries are good travel fruits. Sprouts and baby arugula or baby spinach are good travel vegetables. Dried figs and dates are good travel dried fruit. Cashews and pecans are good travel nuts. Then take packages of the sweet and savory prepared snacks you can order online or get in Whole Foods and you're set.

Thanks, phantom! There are a couple of springs an hour or so from me. Actually, we have well water, but I'm interested in the chloramine situation in the city water since it's become a big deal on the local news now and I'd never heard of it, so I've been researching. And I thought chlorine and fluoride was bad.

My town is having a city council meeting about putting Chloramines in the water because of new stricter EPA Regulations -- "The water authority says it is being compelled by tougher EPA Regulations, and that Chloramines are the best bang for the treatment buck." There's a lot of opposition to it, but I'm sure they'll get their way in the end, like always happens. I'm trying to

"All ingredients HAS been processed through a very careful procedure so the enzymes and vitamins of the plants are not damaged." Shouldn't that be "have" been processed... Personally I'd like to know what that process is. In other words, if it's 'freeze dried', I'm not interested. That's just me - I think frozen food is dead.

Zia's in Baltimore is really good - they have raw and cooked. Very reasonably priced raw dishes, sit down or take out. I like the Zucchini Puttanesca, Zucchini Alfredo and Lasagna the best. I wish there were more raw restaurants around.

This article I just ran across references Aristotle, and relates to the 'wars of beliefs' From Panchito's Wikipedia link - Cognitive disequilibrium is a closely related concept in the cognitive developmental theory of Jean Piaget: the inevitable conflicts of experiences between current beliefs and new information will lead to disequilibrium, which in turn motivates progress through th

It hasn't been Resolved, and JohnA hasn't had the Opportunity to Speak in His Own Defense. He's been Tried and Found Guilty without being Present at the Inquest. He wasn't even Served Notice of the Examination. Is this Fair? Let's take a Vote? I Vote Not-Guilty. His Reputation has been Destroyed....

Back to the subject at hand - the Accusation that JohnA is a Troll -- JohnA was stating that BPA and BPB in Plastic is 'Bad'. And Glass is Preferable. Ummm....isn't that what we all also 'believe'? I was under the impression that we all shared that opinion. So how does one stating that Plastic is Bad, equate to being 'a Troll'? Is it because he didn't give references to somethi

Hey, thanks for posting, John. I also am very concerned about the plastic container of my Blendtec, but I don't know what else to get. I'm also concerned about the rubber top and the loud noise it makes. I wonder if the Vita-Mix is quieter. I'd like to become a liquidarian, but think the plastic will undermine the benefits.

Geez, I feel sorry for the JohnA guy. I wonder if he knows he was trashed over here. I also have a Blendtec and I hate that it's plastic, and the top is rubber. I always had glass previously and never use plastic for my food or to store food. I think it's a legitimate concern and I thought it was encouraged that if you want to post about some subject or other to go back and see if it's been disc

Oh, that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the suggestion of enzymes. One thing I did read was that there are some type of screws that dissolve in the knee. "Recent technology has led to the development of specialized absorbable screws that actually dissolve within the bone over two to three years." Does anyone have any experience or advice on how to repair a complete torn ACL tendon without surgery? A family member who plays basketball got a partial tear when he was playing, and didn't do anything about it because he didn't realize it was something serious. That was a month ago or so, and now the doctor says if he had gotten it fixed at the time, he could have avoided surgery. Now they wan

Thanks vermontnl. I found out yesterday the clicky thing is called an integrator. He said his father used an activator. So just now I started researching them and of course the first thing I run across is someone skeptical of using a punching device to really fix structural problems. I guess I'm just anal or negative or a worry-wart or something before I'm wondering if I'm wasting my

Canned beans are supposed to produce little or no gas, so I would experiment. I know canned isn't optimal - metal, water, salt - but just to see if there's a difference, I would try it. Let us know what happens.
