I would surmise that all pulp retains some juice...maybe if you're going to be using both the pulp and the juice separately, there may be a wisdom to using a crappy juicer that produces very wet pulp.

Hi Samara, can you be very specific on exactly what you do to make soup from pulp - what do you juice to begin with, and then step by step, how do you transform this into delicious soup? Thanks....

i love to put at least a tablesppon of spirulina in my juice. i've experimented with hemp powder, whey powder, stuff like that but i keep coming back to spirulina for the energy buzz that seems to complement the sense of well being i get from the juice. My favorite brand of spirulina WAS "light force" years ago, like in the early 1980's but I don't think the company exists any longe

cool. i like my old blender. it's a chrome "cyclomatic" and "frappe" is the strongest setting. I guess "frappe" is old school for "smoothie." it is less than 2HP - it's 800 watts....anyway i'll try adding a bit of apple cider vinegar into my salad drink for character and punch.

"Horsepower" is an interesting word. I think 746 watts equals one horsepower? Anyway, when you blend salads, how much water do you add, and what are your favorite palatable recipies? I'd like to give this a try with my 800 watt 30 year old Oster. Thanks, Jeff

Well I'm going to give mine another few tries deferring judgement and I'd be happy to be able to say that yes, it's a fine wheatgrass juicer and a great value. Since I bought the thing I would prefer to like it....

I've experimented with both raw oats and cooked oats - one cup oat, two cups water, at a high blend. i think the raw oats produce a cleaner tasting milk type juice. i also added a bit of cocoa powder so it's make believe chocoloate milk. Not bad with cereal but terrible with coffee.

Yo Yogi, are you saying that this would be a good first juicer because you're familiar with the model or because it's an inexpensive manual?

I have one, and personally wouldn't recommend it. It's a neat design and it's well constructed, but from my experience there is very little juice output at all. I'd love to hear what others have observed using their Lexen Healthy Manual Juicer.

Don't know if this has been mentioned or realized before, but I thought I'd pass it along anyway. You know the pulp ejector sort of spits out pulp all over the kitchen unless you place a plastic bowl to catch most of it? Well I read somewhere that you can take a little plastic bag from the grocery store and tie it to the pulp ejector with a rubber band to collect the pulp? Well, that's a littl

I see a new Samson on Ebay for $210 including shipping. Seems like the best price out there. Do you agree?

Thanks! Will check it out after my 20 pound bag from "Sproutman" (shipping is less from Amazon than through his website) runs out... Jeff

thanks i was actually - as i was reading your response - ask if you'd recommend the WHEATEENA Red Label over the Samson but you beat me to the punch. Since I also juice vegetables (currently with a Champion) I'm thinking of transitioning completely to the Samson. Jeff

HI - I would appreciate it if someone would actually respond to this query. I started growing wheatgrass using soil and trays in my apartment and I've been successful with that but found using the manual "healthy juicer" really unacceptable. Hardly any juice, etc., but still an ambitious looking inexpensive appliance. I have a Champion for vegetable jucing which is fine, and I wan

What constitutes high speed? I recently bought a mid seventies Osterizer that's 800 watts for about $50 on Ebay. As I get into blending greens I'll determine if this appliance serves my needs or not.

Hi. Where do you all get your wheatgrass seeds from? I had bought a bag from an Ebay seller recently and it's going fast and I'm looking for a good supplier, with good prices and low shipping. Since the main point of growing your own is to save money - a few cents a shot as opposed to a few dollars a shot - this matter is of definite importance... If someone can save me a few hours of googling

I bought a Champion some years ago and found it slightly cumbersome to deal with and not very user friendly. At the same time I had a "Juiceman 2" which, being fully aware that it's not very solidly built, I found it to be easy to deal with, nicely designed and very easy to clean. The pulp was wet but I figured, so what - I could always run it through again for diminishing returns. R
