Thanks for all the tips. I have to keep juicing carrots cuz my mom's naturopath says it should be the basis of her daily veggie juice to fight her cancer. I used to have an Acme centrifugal but discontinued it cuz of the oxidation, plus the machine was so loud and used to "walk" when off balanced..I've looked into the greenstar but wonder if that magnetic technology might affect the

Hi there, I have the Omega 8003 juicer and I chop carrots everyday to juice and am tired of doing it. Is there some kind of gadget out there that would make the chopping easier? I have seen the Chop Wizard on TV but the grid blades cannot be sharpened... Thanks! Sha

What is a k & k grinder? I just inspected my Omega 8003 and found some of the plastic in the plastic cap has chipped off. It makes me wonder how much of the plastic got (and will get) into the juice..? I believe it is polycarbonate. Sha

Hi--has anyone had any experience with the Easy Health Angel Juicer? It seems to be what I am looking for as it has all stainless steel contact parts and is masticating, plus has few parts to clean. Sha

I've heard of the Greenstar, the only thing I was leery of is the magnetic ceramic thing--I wondering if that could do more harm than good? Sha

Hi--I am currently using an Omega 8003 single auger juicer for carrots, cucumbers, zucchini and greens like parsley, kale etc. However, the parts that come in contact with the veggies are plastic. Is there a non-centrifugal juicer out there that has stainless steel contact parts? I know the Champion does but it heats up the juice a bit I heard. Thank you! Sha

Hi there, The melamine auger in my Omega 8003 is stained. I have followed Omega's directions by washing it after each juicing with warm soapy water but I can't get the stains out. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of the stains? The juice is for my mother who has cancer so I would prefer as natural a solution as possible. Thank you! Sha

Well I called Waring--they gave me a local dealer--went to see them and they took the juicer in for repair with no fuss. The place I had taken the juicer in yesterday for repair was actually the place I bought the juicer from. Also, the local dealer Waring directed me to was selling the Acme 6001--a stainless steel version of our current juicer, for $100 less than the one we got from the othe

I bought the Acme 5001 centrifugal 4 months ago. I began to have a lot of trouble with it after about 3 months of daily usage. Whenever I tried to push the veggie down with the plastic plunger, the plunger would rattle against the side of the opening. I thought this was because the pulp was unbalanced but when the rattling started from the beginning of the juicing I knew something was wrong.

Well, I did get the Omega 8003...the number of positive reviews I had read far outwweighed the negative. Still, I was still a bit apprehensive but as I am juicing for my mother who has cancer I could not afford to take too long on my decision. Well, my apprehensions were justified. I do not really like the 8003. The mush gets trapped inside and and there is a lot of wastage. and yes, (than

Hiya--does anyone know if there are any cons to the Greenstar magnetic technology? I have heard that the juice quality is superior because of it but it sounds a bit "unnatural" to me. Don't want to here down the road that it could be harmful. TX! Sha

I am juicing for my mother. She is supposed to drink 2 glasses of juice a day. At 6am, she drinks 2 warm glasses of water. At 6:30am, I give her her 1st glass of juice. She wants the 2nd glass at 10am. Is all this liquid within a 4 hr period safe and effective? Sha

You know, when I was first told to juice by my mom's naturopath (my mom has breast cancer) my first thoughts were "wouldn't it be better to blend than juice because of the fibre elimination in juicing?". So what is the current mode of thinking? A combo of both? If blending veggies, can one's body handle all that fibre? What is so great about a Vitamix? Tx! Sha

I have been researching for days on the right juicer to buy and I am still unsure. I hope someone can help me. I currently have the Acme 5001 centrifugal but would like to switch to one that would yield higher quality juice and is quieter. I am contemplating either a dual stage single auger or a twin gear. Here is my info: Am currently juicing carrots, other hard veggies and hard fruits. W
